detroit didn't play the pens all year long. the 2 particular divisions each team are in didn't play each other at all.
there is no team in the west the red wings have faced that has the speed and scoring ability like the pens...the wings better be ready.
the pens better be ready too...detroit can pass like no other team in the nhl. period.
as i write this...it is 4-1 wings with about 6min to go. ya just never know what may happen though

pittsburgh hasn't played a team that scores deflection goals the way detroit does either. I think it will be a good game.DrumAndDestroy wrote:detroit didn't play the pens all year long. the 2 particular divisions each team are in didn't play each other at all.

Detroit is good Kevin...but i'm sorry man Pittsburgh is even better. You guys have the old guys in net in which Pittsburgh will wear down relentlessly and Fleury will keep going and going like the energizer bunny! hehe Nah should be a great matchup.... Pittsburgh in 6.

the pens are the kind of team that can take the red wings.
i will actually be out of town this weekend for game 1...but us hockey gurus should get together for some of these games if we can.
I'm in. Let me know when/where. I'm leaving for Vacation next Thursday, so it'll have to be before then

No way, Xero. I'll give ya 3 reasons the Wings will win this:xero380 wrote:Detroit is good Kevin...but i'm sorry man Pittsburgh is even better. 1. Experience. The Red Wings have two players who already own one Stanley Cup ring (Pavel Datsyuk, Dominik Hasek), three who have won two (Chris Chelios, Chris Osgood and Brian Rafalski) and five who have three each (Kris Draper, Tomas Holmstrom, Nicklas Lidstrom, Kirk Maltby and Darren McCarty). All except Rafalski won at least one championship in a Detroit sweater.
2. Special Teams. Detroits penalty-kill and power play units are second to none. Look for Holmstrom to drive M.A. Fleury crazy by parking his backside right in front of the net at every opportunity.
3. GOALTENDING. You can't even compary Fleury to Osgood. Ozzie didn't lose for a MONTH before Dallas won 2 in a row. Osgood is the player who has been in this position before, knows what pressure he’s going to face and how to respond to adversity.
Like I said, Wings in seven. Most Wings fans think I'm being way to generous, but living here, I know that the Pens are good enough to push the Wings to a seventh game.
Dood...
