Dave Grohl writes to Metallica!

Post by The'Kidd »

Dave Grohl, frontman for Foo Fighters, drummer from Nirvana and helmer of metal side project Probot, has wriiten an open letter to Metallica regarding the new album.

Dear METALLICA,

“Hey, it’s Dave! Remember me? Yeah, I’m the guy that’s been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album ‘Kill ‘Em All’ from a mailorder catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can’t remember. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I’ve been listening to your albums ever since (even ‘St Anger’!).

“I can’t wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I’ll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I’m sure you’ll come out and blow everybody’s fuckin’ minds, because you’re fuckin’ METALLICA!

“Good luck. And don’t release it until it’s kick-ass.

“Yours, Dave Grohl.

“P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?”

Oh man, kind of a low blow, dont ya think? He's basically telling Metallica not to release their new album until it is kick-ass, unlike the others apparently, especially St. Anger.

What are your thoughts/feelings on this? Think Lars will thrash him? :P

They'll hate on him for awhile and then befriend him just like they did with Napster! Dave Grohl is a funny guy.

It also sounds like Mr. Grohl wants a guest slot on drums because it would be a dream for him to play with one half of his childhood idols- you know, because Ciiff's been gone awhile, and Lars would be sitting out on that one so it would be Dave Grohl drumming with James and Kirk- half of Metallica!

Dave Grohl should write a letter to Axl next. By the time GnR releases 'Chinese Democracy,' we'll be living within one.

aghaghaghaghagh who said the M-word. they were cool from and "justice for all" back and i love their older material. after that album they turn into capitolist fasicist fagots. at least lars and james did. thats just my opinion. they make my skin crawl.

That's too funny man!

Yeah we've all heard that their last few albums were gonna be more of a
Thrash style but as it turns out it's more (Bob) Rock than anything.

Oh well, what can you do? Maybe Rick Rubin can help them?

Blinded by me, you can't see a thing. Just call my name and I'll hear you scream...

Perhaps they should do a tour with Rage Against the Machine to get back to their socialist roots. :? :D

Cool story from Kyle. Dave always seemed like a real cool down to Earth guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. I love that the Foo Fighters seem to put out great records when the trend since the mid 90s has been to release a good debut album and then put out consistently more shitty and watered-down albums.
