Been playing "Superman Returns" a lot (surprise) ... but when I get bored I like to pick up pedestrians on the street and fly them up to the roof of the highest skyscraper and just leave them there.

If I'm feeling especially "Bizarro," I'll fry them with my heat vision and knock them off the side of the roof.

The Star Wars LEGO games are pretty fun, too.

GTA is da bomb.

Still playin warcraft. Theres very few games that are complicated and long enough to hold my interest. I'll be a while till something replaces it. I'll probably end up not playing video games for a long time before a decent worthy game comes out. I tried AOC and Warhammer beta's, both pretty half assed and too simple.

As for the GTA games, I had the original when it was out, and got GTA2, didnt play 3 till after i beat Vice City. Dont really care for the newer ones. Same old game anymore.

Same with FPS games... they all feel the same anymore, and theres a million of them. Most of them being ww2 shooters. Bleh.

I cant wait till theres a new decent game out.

My 2 major games right now are Halo 3, and Fable : The Lost Chapters for the PC

Fable is kind of like WOW, but its not an MMORPG, and it does eventually end. I really like it for its fighting scheme and the fact that you can take your character down the path of good or evil. There are also so many things you can do within the game that it would take quite a few passes through it to get them all, and you would have to be extremely good, or extremely evil to get them all. For instance, i could go around the town helping people and doing their work for them, or i could simply eradicate everyone and own all of the houses and be mayor of the town. You can learn how to bargain with people through a pretty advanced bartering system, or you can just steal all of their shit, wreck their shops, sell the stuff, and pay off your fines.

If you are an extremely good character, you emit a white light, and you have a halo over your head and small butterflies trail you, if you are a complete asshole/murderer/wife beater, you emit a black smoke, grow horns, your eyes glow red, and bats follow you. People react to you based on what your character looks like. If you dress the right way, you can make women want to screw your brains out and marry you the minute they see you, orrrr, you can scare the shit out of everyone you run into and develop scars all over your body.

I played as a pristinely good character til i beat the game, then it gives you the option to keep playing even though theres nothing left to do. So i killed everyone i met.

I guess since I am love crime stuff, I would say the CSI game is one of my favorites! Now ya all can laugh at me for this one, but my daughter got me hooked on the Nancy Drew Computer games! There are mysteries that you have to solve, and some darn hard puzzles and stuff to solve! We actually play together at times!
I also play Burnout, I love the one where you cause an accident and try to accumulate enough money damage for a Gold medal! Too Cool!
I also have Gun which is a cool game as well, although I am not that good at it.... yet! Ha

arcade

Post by tornandfrayed »

I just got done building a full size 4 player arcade control console for an arcade mame machine. It is old school with track ball, 4 way J-stick, 4 8 way j-sticks, and all the goodies. We got a 36 inch monitor that is 800 x 600 and it works perfectly. We are going to build the stand for the monitor and the cab for the rest to finish it off.

With the track ball we have been playing Centipede a lot.. This thing is cool cause you build a PC inside and then use the Mame rom pack that has about 7000 games. You have to go through and pick out your favs for a separate list but the old stuff seems to work for me cause I don't have the time to take. I can do 15 or 20 minutes every once in a while...

Thats what i need to get back i had mame on my old computer but i don't have it anymore and never got it back. Should have made a back up. Mame is probably the best emulator pretty much all of the games that are on there i like. And not to mention building a full size 4 player arcade control console is probably one of the coolest things i have heard in a long time hahahaha. But seriously i am serious jealous tornandfrayed

I always had trouble with mame. I could only get like half the ROMs I downloaded to work.

mame

Post by tornandfrayed »

The mame machine runs almost all the roms. The problem is that there are so many versions of mame, you have to get a romset that is designed to work with that version of mame. I have about 125 out of 7000 in my "Dave List" and they all work great. There is a lot of shit in the main list but I just don't use it.

It is a blast playing 4 player "TMNT" and being able to just play til you beat the game! All the quarters are provided!

Also Centipede with the awesome trackball is cool along with "Golden Tee" golf....

I'll probably play about 12 hours... unfortunately i spend about half of the time punching cops and then running, seeing how many stars i can get and escape.

Well, I'm about 40% complete, 25 hours of playing. Such a big city to mess around in. I just unlocked the whole thing.

rented

Post by tornandfrayed »

I rented this. Man if this is what merits a ten in gaming then I guess I am out of touch! So much swearing, terrible driving physic's, the whole thing seemed a bore. The fighting system is a joke. I haven't given up yet bu man, I can only play this after my kids have gone to bed. Makes me think that the gaming industry caters to 21-28 year old white males. Talk about a bunch a macho bullshit, in the first three minutes of the game the conversation veers to "have you ever been with two women at once?". WTF? I will try again but I don't see this as anything but bad for gaming...

Give me something that is playing and not beating up cops. Not trying to get "virtually laid".

I prefer Centipede.....

Not a jilt to all you guys who love this kind of thing, but it is not for me....

i have to admit, there is a lot of swearing, even for the GTA series, but it normally fits the character that's saying it. The 2 chicks at once is just an opening into Roman's mindset. he says other fucked up things through out the game. To me, the best parts of the game are all the little things that you have to pay attention to notice. what people on the streets are saying, different internet sites, the radio programs and commercials, and especially to anyone to has the game... WATCH TV!! IT'S FUCKING HILARIOUS!

The story is awesome. It's really cool seeing all the bullshit that Nikko goes through. I really dig it, it's not for everyone though.
