Sometimes I like to record internet radio broadcasts or other audio files (...ya know, for educational purposes).
My laptop and desktop both have integrated audio running XP. My laptop has the 'Stereo Mixer' option that enables me to record what the PC is playing. The desktop does not have this feature. It is a '05 Dell XPS with the Sigma Tel audio.
Has anyone experienced this? Is purchasing another soundcard for my desktop a possible solution? I used to be a real gearhead and figure these things out myself but I just no longer have the time.
Thanks,
Bill

I don't know if changing your sound card will help but I also have a Sigma Tel audio card in my lap top and I have no such option. There may be a program you can download for streaming audio. I use a chessy program called " Audio Recorder For Free" and it does the job.
