Very cool man, nice playing and a good recording. Having not heard your band before, you guys remind me alot of Nickleback, well the vocals really. I liked the songs and the grooves. How do the tunes go over at shows?

Be careful there. Them's fightin' words 'round this forum. Actually, I agree. There is definitely a clear modern rock influence, but despite the prevailing attitude here sometimes, I don't think that's a bad thing.
It sounds great, Rob! Very well, produced. The guitar tone is excellent. Shake has a great pocket and groove. Everything is accessible and has mainstream appeal without being "dumbed down." Steve's definitely coming into his own as a vocalist.
We will do a show together! Hopefully the third time will be the charm. LOL

awesome job, you guys should be proud of that stuff. i brought michaela in for a listen and she gave you guys some awesome headbobs and she was digging it. i know you guys are catering more to the 5-9 year olds but the way she was dancing around you might want to rethink that stratagy. 27 month olds, don't lie.
seriously though, i thought is was great! you guys are great musicians and the nicest bunch of guys. lots of good things are going to come your way. i have a feeling.
Great stuff, guys! Well-written, and well-recorded, with appeal to people who actually buy their music. I like how it's big-sounding, but still crisp, like you didn't recorded 72 tracks of rhythm guitar. I get the Nickelback reference, but "Here's To You" reminds me of a Stone Sour song I like... it's my favorite of the bunch.------->JMS

Why is Nickelback so disliked on this forum? They're a successful band and sell alot of records?? I commented on the Nickelback similarities because vocally, there are some, not because it's negative in any way. What gives?

paul was just messin with ya.
This forum has lots of members with different musical tastes.
I personally hate Nickelback, but I just pick on people for liking them out of jest. Some people do take shit way too seriously, and I find it amusing.
Anyways, Good job Slacker Theory. You guys know that the whole mainstream rock thing isn't my bag, but you guys pull it off very well.
I can respect a job well done, as well as the hard work that goes into it.
We're (fedup) going into faceoff to record in early August. I can't wait.

Mike, haha I know you were joking man.
I was just explaining to CCdrums why some people bash nickelback. He seemed taken aback as to why someone would not like them.

Not really taken aback by why someone wouldn't like them, but why they are the butt of everyone's joke. I'm not that familiar with Nickelback except for what I hear on the radio, so I'm neither for nor against them. I was just curious about the reasoning behind the bashing.

It just seems people either love or hate them. Not too many on the fence like yourself.

Sorry we didn't get to chat more at the store Rob, but I'm liking where you guys are heading. Fresh sounds, real catchy. I like how the solo's have a purpose and aren't just thrown for the sake of someone's ego. Keep them coming.
Wow, thanks for the compliments everyone! Especially from you Sanchez! You guys are gonna dig the little studio they have kickin' there, it's very laid back and the sound is excellent. As far as Nickelback goes, I can dig it. Steve has that rasp, but he's definitely got his own voice. We just can't wait to get back in there and do some more recording. We are just basic modern rock, but try to pull out our own sound. It's nice to be writing again.
Hey Clint, people dig our originals when we play out. We do mostly covers, however our originals seem to be catching on well.

Cool Rob, isn't it awesome to have people diggin' your own stuff? When I was in the Front, we played a substantial amount of our own stuff and it was great whenever they were accepted just like any other song we played. Have fun and enjoy it man, hope to hear some more soon.

Think of how Winger became the butt of alot of jokes (esp after Bevis and Butthead). Or think of how the Bee Gee's were bashed at the end of the Disco era. Yanno it's considered cool to rip on them so everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
