OZZY Randy Rhodes Tribute- Probably my favorite Ozzy (solo) album of all time.
Black Sabbath- Live at Last. It wasn't the best mixed live album, but its a snapshot of Sabbath at their peak.
AC/DC- If You Want Blood...You've Got It. For no other reason, than it just smokes the whole way through.

Exit Stage Left....best version of "Closer to the Heart " EVER!

James Brown: Live at the Apollo
BB King: Live at the Regal
Both of these records have great performances (and the recently re-mastered Live at the Apollo sounds MUCH better than the original), but what I love about both of these is the crowd. The crowds, mostly audibly women, go FREAKIN NUTS! Elvis Presley and the Beatles had nothin' over these two in their prime. The cries and screams are essential to these performances. The crowds loved them, and BB and JB gave it right back. The homogenized roar of a stadium crowd doesn't do much for me on record.
James Brown: Sex Machine
Even though this a hodgepodge of live tracks from two bands (Famous Flames and the JB's), supposedly-live tracks, and outright studio work (Sex Machine), the player are top notch throughout. Love the reworked version of Bewildered. If you can nominate Kiss Alive II, then I feel justified in this one.
Joe Jackson: Big World
Though not a traditional live album, it is Joe's best collection of new material ever, spurred on by his crack quartet at the time. All recorded live with an audience in a small theater in NYC. The audience was just asked to refrain from clapping, etc. till the take was done. 3 sided LP!
SRV: Live at the El Macambo
Double Trouble tears it up in support of their first album. This is from the time when his star was just rising...and you can see why.
Robert Nighthawk: Live on Maxwell St.
One of the most honest & raw blues albums ever.
King Curtis: Live at the Fillmore West
Sounds fantastic. Probably a combination of a great recording in a great room and a great mix. Just enough room mics to make you fell like you are there.

Unleashed in the east.
Any Allmans live.
What he said. The Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East could be the only album I could listen to for the rest of time.
The Danny Gatton Redneck Jazz albums will be the discovery of a lifetime for anyone who has never listened to yet.
