obamas lapelle pin

Post by mjb »

this should ba no brainer for clinton but maybe she didn't think if it yet.

if i were her and i wanted to win, i would make one commercial, just one, thats all it would take and this is what it would say:

OBAMA REFUSES TO WEAR THE AMERICAN FLAG ON HIS LAPELLE. WHY WOULD ANY AMERICAN VOTE FOR HIM.

End of story,Clinton wins nomination by a landslide.

WTF is his problem.

this guy wants to be commander-in chief.

i can't believe i actually thought he was o.k. at one point early on. i'm glad the process has drug out for a while and you get to see their true colors come out. no pun intended. seriously.

Umm, Well look at this blog and the pictures(especially the pictures).

He said he won't wear it because flag waving has replaced actual patriotism, and I agree.

Hillary Clinton is a fucking snake in the grass.

It's pretty sad when our best option is John Mccain.
I will not be voting again this election.

Obama's downfall in my eyes, is that he is too unclear on many things and clearly inexperienced.

I do not wear a flag lapel, or cross my heart during the national anthem either. I am not a terrorist. I'm of german and italian heritage, but have no ties to Hitler or Moussalini.

Obama does not wear the flag on his lapel because you should not have to wear a little piece of metal on your chest to be considered "Patriotic". Jesus warned of those who "wore their religion on their sleeve for all to see". If that is what it takes then just let Hilly lie to you and be OK.

With Hillary you get Bill. With Obama you get an Enilightened Viewpoint.

I will not argue politics on here, I tried last time and you know what we got (GWB) . I won't say I told you so either.

I just sort of figure that it is as hard for anyone to see my viewpoint as it is for me to see theirs. At that point we are all Americans and I have to assume that we all want the same things.

We want to support our families, we want to put a stop to the lives being lost in foreign countries, we want to be able to afford gas, we want to be able to afford to pay for our children's health care, we want a good career.

These are the things that bring us together.

If wearing a flag pin is enough to tear us apart then I guess that is where the contest should go. To who wears a flag on their lapel.

Go figure.

Brian, John McBush is only OK if you agree that the last 8 years have been fucking peachy..... He might even end up being worse then Bush, an ego the size of Arizona....

Right and he hasn't lied about following the teachings of a racist, hate speech preacher for twenty years?

Yeah, and a first lady who has said she hates the US and is probably more racist than he and his former pastor.

No, you shouldn't. Instead, you should proudly display your yellow magnetic ribbon made proudly in China on your huge V12 SUV that you fill with Middle Eastern gasoline.

Okay, I'll be fair. Some of that oil comes from Canada, but we know what happened when Canada got too cocky in the South Park movie.

Seriously, I agree that this "I'm more patriotic than you" bullshit is asinine. You can wear a lapell, put a magnet on your vehicle, and say patriotic slogans all you want, but how many people are actually walking the walk? During WWII, citizens had to make real sacrifices for freedom and the men and women overseas. That's real patriotism. Despite seeing our children, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, and friends being sent to a sand dune to fight, the citizens have led a pretty comfy existence throughout this war.

I have an American flag magnet on the back of my pickup truck. It's not so much about patriotism, though... it came with the truck, and I thought a redneck should have one. :D
Having/not having a flag pin, or ribbon magnet, or whatever, has no bearing on your patriotism. Having a Jesus fish doesn't mean you're a Christian, and professing Christianity does not make you a good person. Being a conservative does not make you any better than being liberal. Being a good to other people makes you a good person.

Politically, I'm livin' large right now. No matter what happens, the far-right Nixon Republicans will be gone in 9 months. It'll either be a liberal black man, a liberal white woman, or a moderate old guy who makes Reaganites squirm like hemmorhoids. The Evangelicals are mad that McCain's not an Evangelical, so they're sitting this one out in droves. For the first time since the mid-70's, my particular voting bloc, moderate independents, will be the swing vote, and we're anti-Iraq. We believe in checks and balances. We think the party wings are nuts. We see punditry becoming less and less relevant (germane!), and talk radio is hilarious these days, with the desperation showing even on the local level. All they have on Obama is Bill Ayers (which hasn't developed legs) and Bittergate (which must be true, otherwise it wouldn't have cut so deep). It's a scream!

Do you have any idea how ignorant you sound to anyone who's the least bit informed? I'm betting you've never heard any of the "racist, hate speech preacher"'s actual sermons, just little clips taken out of context. News flash: You can take ANYTHING out of context. I could point to some Bible verses that'd make you squirm in your seat. You need to stop relying on Rush Limbaugh and Faux News for your facts and do a little bit of independent research. Either that or STFU; you're making us all a little bit stupider with each post.

The way I look at it is, if America really wants a change, you won't vote for John "Nothing's wrong with us now" McCain. You shouldn't vote for Hillary, because She's from the same political cloth that has been around for the last 20-30 years. Her husband wasn't a bad president at all, but that type of leading is now what we need now, things at TOO FUCKED at this point to kinda make some little tweeks and have eveything be good like Bill did after Bush the first. Remember when Hilary first tried the healthcare thing, started pushing it, then took a big payout form the pharmaceutical companies, and all of a sudden she dropped her idea. I'm extremely excited that Obama doesn't do the whole lobbying thing, so he can actually push ideas (that is if he can get other congressmen to go with him, but we have a Democratic house and senate right now, so that shouldn't be too hard. We need someone who will actually make a big change to try to reverse this mess that G-Dub-Ya got us into. But whoever wins this election, I personally feel bad for, cuz they're inheriting one big bag of shit. But for me, like Katt Williams has said, "when the only dirt you can dig up on this black man, is shit this pastor said, SHIT HIS PASTOR SAID. No babies mamas, no gambling screw ups, no nothing, you have the right black man for the job." I'm sorry this was so long, but i tend to ramble, so in closing I say, "Obama for president in 2008"
If I ever see an amputee getting hanged... I'm just gonna start yelling out letters...

I watched the entire "governments change" sermon from beginning to end. I was not impressed with the grade school history summary (very similar to Obama's lame post-Wright speech), but I do (and always have) agreed with the points he was making about our history;

however

Each time he said "governments change," this created a new context. His final chapter (and final context) sums it up. I emboldend that part of the sermon that relates to presend day America. The rest is just history and has, for the most part, been amended.

"And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on the reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating the citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton fields, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of the racist bastions of higher education and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America'?

"No, no, no, not 'God Bless America,' 'God Damn America.' That's in the Bible, for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating its citizens as less than human, God damn America as long as she tries to act like she is God and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent."

My interpretation of this is that because we pass laws that crack down on criminals, we should God Damn America. Even with the empathy I have for the past wrongs imposed upon Native Americans (I am a little bit Native Cherokee), Japanese Americans and African-Americans, I cannot condone criminal conduct by anyone. America is "federal" and if you can manage to get convicted in federal court 3 times, then, as Chris Rock so aptly explained: "then maybe you need your ass kicked".
