Songs You Can't Stand To Hear
Songs You Can't Stand To Hear
There are many songs that each of us just can't stand to hear for one reason or another. There are lots of songs that were big hits that I never liked and don't ever want to hear again. There are certain styles of music or groups that I don't like at all that some people do like. Are there any songs that when they come on the radio, you have to change the station because you dislike them that much?
I am sure I could think of many more songs and come with a much bigger list but here are some tunes to get started that were big hits that I just can't stand to hear. What are yours?
• The Time Of My Life – Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley
• Islands In The Stream – Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton
• Summer Nights – Olivia Newton John & John Travolta
• Miss You – The Rolling Stones
• Emotional Rescue – The Rolling Stones
• Shattered – The Rolling Stones
• She’s So Cold – The Rolling Stones
• Cowboy – Kid Rock
• Bawitdaba – Kid Rock

All-time classic JP tune-out-the-radio-when-it-comes-on song:
"Brand New Key" by Melanie. I hated hearing that dreg as a kid, and it still triggers a fingernails-on-a-chalkboard reaction from me now. Ugh.
Others that make me cringe:
"How Deep Is Your Love" - Bee Gees (most late-period Bee Gees, for that matter)
anything by Culture Club
And although I've come to tolerate it when I hear most bands cover it on local stages, I cringe when I hear the Violent Femmes' original version of "Blister in the Sun."

THANK YOU!!! It's nice to see that I'm not alone in my hatred for that song.Jim Price wrote:

Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

My kids watch alot of nickolodeon and I have to hear "The Naked Brothers' Band" sing "I don't wanna go to school" several times a day, After the third time you're ready to block that channel.
I don't mean to offend those who are a fan of her, but I can't stomach anything done by Natalie Merchant. First of all, I can't understand what she is saying. Secondly, I think she is extremely overrated and lastly, I saw her perform on television with her band before she went solo and she had some kind of an attitude going on with her band members and it was unprofessional and sending a weird vibe to the crowd. I just don't care for her or her music at all...sorry...
