Spinal Tap

Post by Vette Lover »

Spinal Tap on now. What a Cult Classic. Seen it many times but can't turn the channel. same with Rocky Horror.

Anyone have an addictive one?

Amp with #11 on all dials kills me.

Love Spinal Tap. Also hooked on "Dazed and Confused." Classic stoner flick. Some of the best lines ever are in this movie ("That's what I like about high school girls ... I get older, they stay the same age ...), as well as some top Hollywood people before they were "big," like:

• Ben Affleck
• Matthew McConaughey
• Reneé Zellweger
• Parker Posey

One of the weirdest movies I've seen lately was Johnny Depp as Cry Baby. It was one strange flick.

Strange they just released Sweeney Todd another Depp musical. I was surprised he could sing so well!

I have always loved Depp's choice of movies. I think my favorite was "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." I have to check out Sweeny Todd if it's good.

If I see Braveheart while surfing, I have to stop and watch it. Same with Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou, and a few other Coen Brothers films. Pulp Fiction usually pulls me in, as does Heavy Metal, and anything starring Robert DeNiro, Rutger Hauer or Robert Duvall... they're either well-acted films or at least well-written from my standpoint.--->JMS

Pretty much anytime Ghostbusters is on, I know how I'm gonna be spending my next hour and a half.

Spinal Tap came out 24 years ago this week in 1984. Makes me feel old.

"The Holy Grail" for me. My favorite line is from Tim the Enchanter:

"For death awaits you all... With big pointed teeth".

Makes me laugh every time.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Every time I watch Spinal Tap there is a new line I missed before. The last one I caught is when their manager is telling them that the Boston stop of their tour was canceled he says, don't worry, Boston is not a very big college town anyway.

Any Mel Brooks Movie. Especially "Blazing Saddles."

Also: " The Big Lebowski"

getting lost trying to find the stage is my favorite scene from the movie, though when he is complaining about the deli tray and miniature bread ranks a close second! haha

but Super Troopers is probably my alltime favorite movie!
Videos destroyed the vitality of rock and roll. Before that, music said, "Listen to me." Now it says, "Look at me."

Farva: Give me a double bacon cheeseburger.
Dimpus Burger Guy: [into microphone] Double baco cheeseburger. It's for a cop.
Farva: What the hell's that all about? You gonna spit in it now?
Dimpus Burger Guy: No, I just told him that so he makes it good. [into microphone] Don't spit in that cop's burger.
Farva:' Yeah, thanks.
Second Dimpus Guy: Roger, holding the spit.

"so he makes it good"

LOLLOL love that movie too!!

Spinal Tap is a movie that will never die. They showed just how good they can act in that movie, just from the simple fact that everything except the songs was improvised. Great Movie ...

I also like the Mel Brooks Movies. Blazing Saddles was great. Of course, my all time favorite is Back To The Future. That is a movie I could watch over and over again, and never get sick of ...

What? No Tommy Boy?

Spinal Tap was a favorite when I was in Afghanistan. As was Waiting. And a little known movie called Say it isn't So (also with Kevin Klein).

I'd have to go with Hot Shots...

"Damn it, we have to turn around, i lost my hat."
"But sir we're in the middle of a mission, we can't turn around."
"Well how can I be an Admiral if I don't have my hat?"
"I'm sorry sir, we don't have the time to turn around."
"Well then put Johnson in a boat and we'll have him row in circles around it and we'll pick him up on the way back."
"But sir, that could be weeks."
"Then put some food in the god damned boat, Jesus man, do I have to think of everything?!"

"Are you OK sir? That was a nasty fall."
"Yeah, I'm ok, I tripped on the crab."
"What crab sir?"
"Don't tell me you didn't see him, there were 2 of them, they always work in pairs."

"Damn that's loud, I have titanium earcanals, I took a grenade round to the head at Iwo Jima..... or was it Little Bighorn..... whichever one didn't have the indians."
If I ever see an amputee getting hanged... I'm just gonna start yelling out letters...
