The Pod X3 Live

Post by Team Transylvania »

Image

78 guitar amps
24 guitar cabs
98 stompbox and studio effects
28 bass amps
22 bass cabs
6 vocal preamps

Includes a Usb 2 interface for direct recording, and the ability to edit tones on the computer and transfer them back for live use!

I have the line 6 UX1 for computer recording, so i know what kind of quality Line 6 is. I think Im gonna get the X3 Live for the stage.
only $500!

Check out the site for specific amp models and effects

Do you know someone that has one of these? If so, what does the person think about it?

We had an opening band this past September in which the guitarist was using one of these along with a Fender combo amp. He comped a lot of different sounds using it, and it was definitely a pro-sounding unit.

Of course, while the delays, choruses, flange, and all of that good stuff was coming from the Line 6, I think he was getting the dirt from his amp.

I have the previous generation XT live. I've used this pedal for everything for the last 3 years non-stop. An absolutely essential piece of gear. I can't fucking wait for my tax return to get the X3. I love the XT I have now, I've already extensively checked out the X3, and I'm gonna love it even more!

When I was an XT Live user, I was thrilled with it. I used to get compliments on my sound alot.

Now that I'm a tube owner, I really don't need it. I'm experimenting with it as just an effects board thru the loop, and so far it's taking some tweaking as wahs don't work well thru a loop, nor do stompboxes like the Tubescreamer or RAT. Basically, just the time based stuff like delay, flanger, chorus, & reverb.

Plus I still use it at home for recording, and that's where it really shines. But I still keep hearing about problems with the X3 Live....

One of the big advantages of the X3 over the XT is an effects loop, so you can use the "4 Cable Method" to put some effects in front of the amp and others in the amp's effects loop. There are a lot of other units that do this too, like the Boss GT series. Line 6 also has the M13 on the way, which is all stomp box models.

Still no acoustic guitar simulator. I wonder why they don't put this in their products?

Design philosophy, I s'pose. The Variax models guitars, the PODs model stuff you plug a guitar into.
