yup,
I always thought Billy Joe was a great songwriter. I know some people may argue that, but as Green Day starts to push over 20 years of writing good songs and music it gets harder to do so....

yup.
I would have to say selling out might have been a good career move for them then. I haven't listened to anything since "Nimrod" but any band that can stick around as long as they have, has to be doing something right.

"Selling out" Don't we do it every day if you think about it, jobs, relationships, the car you just bought, The last post you made. Life is just one big sell out now isn't it?DrumAndDestroy wrote:nimrod was way after they reached "sellout" status.Eldorado wrote:I would have to say selling out might have been a good career move for them then. Right..
I didn't say I purchased "Nimrod" that is just where I stopped paying attention. (I brought that album up for a reason.) I'm just saying it is respectful to stay around for such a long time. We all grew out of that music. But kids enjoy it. I was a kid when I last enjoyed it. It would be pretty sad if their songwriting matured with the audience.
Actually I might have purchased "BLVD of 30 pounds heavier and a receding hairline.."

I also think that "selling out" was a good move for them. I'll take the production and songwriting quality from Dookie and Insomnia over what was featured on 1039 Smooth...any day of the week.Eldorado wrote:I would have to say selling out might have been a good career move for them then.
