The Future of Deviance

Post by Killjingle »

It is understandable that from a fan's perspective, Eric's decision comes at an odd time. Especially since the LP was just released a few weeks ago, but in looking at the future, the direction of the band leans very heavily toward a more aggressive nature, without alienating the heavy grooving or dark melodies that have become a trademark sound for Deviance. I am very proud of the work that we have released to date, and I am very excited about the future work that we will record.

Any good band becomes friends, in the process of building a strong crowd base, and it has always been difficult to deal with parting ways. Anyone who says it's not, weren't in it for the right reasons. For two years we shared the stage with Eric, hit the studio 3 times, and traveled over 7 hours one way to play for new fans. Our musical paths have simply split.

This doesnt mean that Deviance will become a full out death metal band or anything like that , I have done that project in the past. It does mean that we are adding some more aggresive music to our sets. I believe it fits better with our onstage persona, and is at the foundation of the sound we are rapidly approaching.

Deviance is currently working with Joe Moore, formerly of Rennis, and at a future date may name him the permanent replacement. He will be filling in for the upcoming shows that Deviance has elected to keep. We feel confident in his ability to get the job done.

Deviance is back.
