I said liberalism, not libertarian. Liberals are leftists authoritarians who want a choke hold on society. They are simply socialists who want to control everything to keep them in power.

And conservatives are rightist authoritarians who want a choke hold on society. They are simply religious nutjobs who want to control everything to keep them in power.

Geez, what is it with the right-wing on this board blaming every problem on "liberal thinking" boogieman from how kids to dress to how much media exposure The Clash got?

Rob you still haven't provided an argument of how the school dress code issue is a result of liberalism.

Theres a line between doing whats best for the kids and teaching them to be docile little pussies. Why do you think there are so many dead end job working "intellectuals"? They are cunts, who always shut up and spoke only when spoken to. I know grown fucking men who are so socially retarded they won't call to get a pizza delivered. They say they don't like dealing with/talking to people. I know why, they don't have someone telling them exactly what to say and how to say it.

Assertiveness is the only thing that gets you anywhere.

Our schools only teach aggression and humility. Both of which need to be learned, but the area in between is equally important.
This society is fucked, but it does inspire me to write angry songs, so keep up the good work I guess.

Fuck, I'm on the rag today. lol :x
As usual, I totally agree with Future Prez Sanchez.

I learned a few years ago about having an internal locus of control and all of that good stuff. Assertiveness is really important, and in my experience, it's something that you need in order to be successful in anything in life.

I generally shy away from self-help gurus because they're usually out to make a buck and try to push their philosophies off as legitimate psychology (neuro-linguistic programming! Are you fucking kidding me?), but I've been reading a book called The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People anytime I get some free time and it really has some positive insights that I've been trying to work into my life. I highly recommend it for someone who is looking to better their outlook on life and success.

Actually conservatives are for small government. Allowing people to be free and able to use their abilities to make something of themselves. You are confusing conservative with neo-cons, which are just as bad as liberals.

Don't put me in on the clash thing, I didn't say anything about liberals there.

It's liberalism at it's finest because of people saying you can't do something because other people may be hurt by it. It may give people the "wrong message" and we need to protect these people from themselves. It's funny though, how traditional "hippie" liberals in the 60's were about freedom and now they are about power. It's weird how things change in a matter of decades.

Remind me never to loan you an Ann Coulter book, because it'll come back with the pages stuck together.

That argument still holds no water. You still haven't exlained why school dress codes are a liberal institution. Just because one calls themself a "liberal" or "conservative" doesn't mean anything. Is it liberal or conservative administrators implimenting these school codes?

If you honestly believe that conservative = freedom and liberal = slavery, then look back in history. Conservatives and liberals have both done a good job at taking away freedoms. It's all relative to which types of freedoms one values.

You can tell who's a conservative in Congress. They're the ones sticking it to the man with a lime green Mohawk.

You people got me wrong, Bush is not a conservative. He's liberal on social and economic issues. The patriot act is fine by me, when have any of you guys or anyone you've ever known been taken freedoms because of this?

It's a few people (school board) trying to tell you how to raise your child because they know better than you... Plan and simple!!! School boards think they are above the law most of the time. They should probably look into the people on the school board. I bet you would find some skeletons there!!!

Plus it also depends on what kind of Gov funds the school is applying for. If the school doesn't "comform" to the Gov standard. NO $$$$!!!

IMO....

Bush liberal on social issues?!?!

We're talking about the dude who wants to stand in the way of modern medicine (i.e., stem-cell research) and has archiac concepts of marriage.

Paul,

My company does some trainings based on Mr. Covey's book.

Great Book, but it gets really repetitive on some things.

He has expanded programs for education and welfare. He's done dick about the illegal immigrant problem. Spends like a fucking maniac. They've increased minimum wage, I'm sure everyone is happy that prices of everything have gone up. He's made the cost of the dollar go way down because of being liberal as a spender. Spend more on health care than any other president in history, and the liberals are still not happy with that. You can't just throw money at problems, it makes more problems. Taxes are going to be through the roof whenever a liberal democrat gets in office.

Rob, you confuse me by being so "conservative". It seems your beliefs contradict your actions and choices. Just an observation.

That's not a contradiction, my freedoms have never been violated because of that. I would rather have Habib taken care of than end up with an assfull of dirty bomb.

Oh and being strong on defense is a good thing in my book.

Why do I say that? Because I'm assuming you make less than 200,000 per year, and would actually receive a TAX BREAK than a tax increase.

Yea I know, I was being an evil generalizing conservative there, you'll have to forgive me. I was thinking that when I was writing, but Habib just sounds funnier than Muhammad.

Everyone will feel the sting, because the economy will go into immediate recession.

oh come on now. Now you're just talking out of your ass. We're already on the edge of a recession... just like we were in 1992... hmm, somebody came in and saved the day then... didn't they?

When have taxes not been "through the roof"?
How much taxes do you actually pay, as a single guy with maybe one job, that this has such a strong impact on you?

If the problem is financial, how do you solve it other than throw money at it?

This is a CAPITALISM problem not red/blue right/left.
