Crispy Frikkin' Chicken

Post by BDR »

Anybody else think this is a little ridiculous bitching about the name of a Sheetz sandwich? Take it easy, people.

It actually made the AP wire:

ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) — A convenience store chain's billboard advertising its fried chicken sandwich is ruffling the feathers of some residents. Sheetz unveiled the "Crispy Frickin' Chicken" billboards at the beginning of February.

The campaign consists of 100 billboards placed locations that carry the sandwich, spokeswoman Monica Jones said Thursday. The campaign is aimed at young adults, and the company did not intend to offend anyone, Jones said.

"We're kind of known for edgy, kind of brash advertising tactics, and we knew this would spark a certain amount of controversy," Jones said. "That said, we're proud of the campaign."

Sheetz will take down the billboards on Wednesday, when the campaign is scheduled to end, Jones said. The company recently removed one billboard in Hazle Township, near Hazleton, after local officials fielded complaints.

"There was a lady who left an angry voice mail," code enforcement officer Fran Calarco said. "And a man called and said he had small children and didn't think they should be exposed to that type of language. I told him I completely understood and agreed."

Sheetz Inc., based in Altoona, operates stores in Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.

People are ghey.

Once again, is it possible to trade problems with the people who bitch about this kind of stuff?

Oh, Boo-FUCKING-hoo. If that dude thinks that the biggest obstacle his child will have to deal with is reading a psuedo-profanity on a billboard, then consider himself lucky. How do such pansified people make it through life? I'd like to walk up to that dude with his kid right there, and say a big FUCK YOU to him.

Bill Maher is right when he says that we've become a nation of pansies in name of "protecting the children."

I've become rather partial to the Sheetz "Bucket of Fries." It's a great after-gig snack and is under two bucks.

I have a low tolerance for people's stupidity today for some reason. After 25 years, I think that dealing with asshats who should have been terminated for cognitive deficiency is starting to take a toll on my laid-back demeanor. :D

... and you can place the bucket conveniently in the crotch area for easy access while plowing down the highway.

WAIT! I feel a slogan coming on:

"Hungry? Fuckit ... grab a Bucket O' Fries ..."

I just told the 12 year old daughter the other day that you may hear some bad words on this DVD, (Overkill, suprise  ) but I don't want to hear them coming out of your mouth. I've treated all 3 the same in that repect, and they're all respectable (unsheltered) individuals. We've had church groups come into the bowling alley during Rock-n-Bowl and ask us to turn off the jukebox because "there are children here." Or hand me a religious music CD and ask me to play it. I'm SURE that the other 100 kids want to listen to that. Yes, it's gonna send your kid straight to hell if he hears Bon Jovi. I actually feel sorry for kids that have to deal with that.

I'm surprised they didn't have an uproar over the "El Breakfasto" ads. "Hey, Sheetz is making fun of them funny-talking Mexicans. They can't do that!" Although it's probably not wise to alienate an ethnic group that will be making up the majority of their employees and customers in a few decades. (Heh, I said "alienate". That's irony for ya.)

Their next ad campaign is going to be for a ham sandwich that's "So cheap, even a Jew would eat it".

Hey! I have an idea.

Why don't we just take the alphabet out of our schools, and stop teaching children how to read and write until they are young adults how might better understand our adult humors.

I agree with everyone. I think people need to grow up a little bit. It isn't any worse than public televison. Then again, those people probably don't even have tv sets. In fact, if they do...it is probably parental blocked so bad that all they get is The Backyardigans or Barney.

People piss me off.

To anyone who is offended by the word, "Frikkin'":

Why are you offended? What exactly does the word, "frikkin'" mean to you? If you associate that word with the word,"fucking," then YOU HAVE A DIRTY MIND. I myself associate the word, "frikkin'" with the word, "freaking." Why would you associate it with copulation? Because YOU HAVE A DIRTY MIND and you need to get right with Jesus.

P.S.: The words, "darn" and "dang" are meant to replace "damned." The word, "shoot," when used as as an exclamation, means, "shit." So does, "crap," and even, "sugar." "Goshdarnit," however innocuous, means "Goddamn it," which is an especially bad curse, if you're a Christian. Calling a woman a "broad" refers to her hips, and insinuates that she is a sexual object. My favorite is "Christian Rock." The word, "rock" is short for "rock and roll," right? "Rock and roll" is a jazz-musician euphemism for intercourse. You're saying, "Christian Intercourse." If God is omniscient, he knows what you mean in your heart. He knows that if you say, "frikkin' good chicken," you are not referring to the sexual prowess of poultry.

I think that McDonald's needs to quit advertising hamburgers. Anytime Butters from Southpark gets upset about something, he says, "hamburgers," as a euphemism for profanity. I'm very offended now by the name of the delicious meat patty.

fuck, frick, frack, freakin, all of these words are derivatives from the german word "fricken" which means "to strike".

It's the thought that counts, really. Substitute swear words still convey the same idea. Like if you walk up to some big black guy and call him an "uckly frickin' nicker", you're going to get your ass beat regardless.
