Moxham123, excellent choice of tunes and point, as when a Band does play some tunes just because they like them, I believe that is conveyed back to the audience. When a Band is enjoying the heck out of playing, the audience is having a BLAST hearing them!
Also, imho, audience members are invariably familiar with ALL of the tunes on their favorite Musicians' albums/cds. When/if they happen to hear a Band play one or more of those obscure tunes, it's definitely something that strikes a chord with them.

i'd love to hear anything by the Pixies
also maybe I'll Stick Around by the Foo Fighters off of their first album
Any Sunny Day Real Estate would be cool, but i guess their hard to listen to at times
and a little heavier, some APC that's not Judith or Pet.

If I ever see an amputee getting hanged... I'm just gonna start yelling out letters...
Was in a band years ago that did this tune. Probably my favouritemoxham123 wrote: Behind The Wall Of Sleep - The Smithereens
S-eens song, and that's saying a lot. Incredible band. Got to see
them a few years ago. DiNizio no longer looks like satan, but like
a hefty guy you'd see out somewhere. Still put on a great show and
sounded terrific.

We did an impromptu version of that a few weeks ago ... I dig that song, as well. It's a little goofy but fun.mistikalvalkrie wrote:"I'm Gonna Be" by the Proclaimers...
Bag, I hope someday a local band will cover some Overkill for you ... and learn the actual words ... LOL.

That's what she said.
You know, I can't think of any songs that I'd really LOVE to hear covered, but I can remember a benefit show awhile back (damn, can't remember the bands) where the band on stage at Aldo's was doing Iron Maiden's Children Of The Damned! I went nuts, that had to be the best thing covered I've EVER heard! And it was nailed left, right, and center! Wanna talk about fired up? Yeah, that did it!
