nah, the steelers are overrated... VERY overrated. When you play Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Baltimore 2 times each year... and share a division with said teams -- there is absolutely no excuse for not making the playoffs...f.sciarrillo wrote:Overrated: Filthydelphia Eagles

I think Longcat is a pretty cool guy. eh is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong and doesn't afraid of anything.

... yes, as opposed to the AFC East (Bills, Jets, Dolphins) — truly the cream of the NFL crop, giving those amazing Patriots many challenges year in, year out.Barfight wrote:When you play Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Baltimore 2 times each year... and share a division with said teams -- there is absolutely no excuse for not making the playoffs...

touche. the AFC East isn't very competitive either... but that doesn't mean the Steelers aren't overrated...BadDazeRob wrote:... yes, as opposed to the AFC East (Bills, Jets, Dolphins) — truly the cream of the NFL crop, giving those amazing Patriots many challenges year in, year out.![]()

I'm not saying historically they were always overrated... but for some reason, Steelers fans use 4 championships in the 1970s as a backpeddling measure for not owning up to their current sucktitude...
were the steelers overrated in the 1970s? no.
are the steelers overrated today? very much so.
and yes... I am a Raiders fan. Albeit, a very frustrated Raiders fan... not so much at the team... but at Al Davis -- clearly, our beloved dark lord has lost his touch... maybe Al Davis and Joe Paterno can both get out soon, and go golfing together.

"Man, the Steelers suck this year..."
"We have won 5 Super Bowls, blah blah blah..."
that has absolutely ZERO bearing over that year's squad...

Overrated: The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crowe, Fergie, Gwen Stfani, Fantasia Barino, Kanye West, rap artists, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson (good songwriter but lousy performer), and Bob Dylan (good songwriter but lousy performer)
Underrated: Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, Dixie Dregs, .38 Special, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and I agree about Alex Lifeson - he is a very good guitar player but Geddy Lee and Neil Peart do get all the attention because they are so good. I appreciated Alex Lifeson so much more when I saw them in concert because he does so much for the sound of Rush.
