Alright, so who saw Rush last night?

Actually, the reason I am posting this was - was it me, or did things just not sound right at all most of the time? Bobby Lee and Kent, I know you guys were there - what did you think?

I mean, it was a kick ass show none the less - except for the fact I got soaked cause of the down pour! Hehe - it was all good though, it was all for the boys.

I have to say that things sounded great from where I was standing....I guess that I've just come to expect both musical AND sonic excellence from the boys in Rush....they most certainly lived up to expectations! I mean, a lot of the movements/improv/live changes were taken directly from the Vapor Trails tour (i.e. Resist unplugged, Neil's solo), but damn, they are tight!

Some of the nice surprises for me included "Xanadu" (never expected that one!) and the tune from Grace Under Pressure (was that "Between the Wheels"?). Geddy was in the best voice I've ever heard him (my first tour was Counterparts), and all three guys played flawlessly.

I could hear everything clearly at a volume level high enough to let me know I was at a rock concert without being deafening. My sole complaint: Why the hell didn't they open the parking lot a little sooner? Paying $10 for parking is bad enough....it's worse when you have to find a local lot to kill two more hours after driving for 2.5 hours to even get to the damn venue.

Great show. Well worth the $55. Compaire the prices on Rush tix to just about any other major tour and you'll find that they are a bargain....to Alex, Neil, and Geddy: Thanks for continuing to tour and to allow us to enter your world for 3+ hours at a fair price. While other bands in your age group have settled into being "retro" acts or in simply writing lame, gutless music (listening Aerosmith?), Rush has continued to move forward. Good sirs, here's to 30 years of great music, great live performances, and dedication to your craft! May we have you with us for many more!

BTW, anybody notice how many kids were there? Damn, is that cool! There is hope for the next generation!

I agree with Grimmbass, the sound where we were was very good (I was 5-6 rows in front of Grimmbass and Bob). Everything sounded balanced and clear from where I was.

Incredible show! Granted, this was the first time I had ever seen Rush live, but it was everything I was hoping for. I liked the mix of new and old Rush, also popular and obscure tracks, the precision, the detail, the video accompaniments, everything! The most lasting image I will have from that show is the overhead shots of Neal Peart's immense drum kit, and him playing it, especially during the solo!

Although I didn't like the increased parking fee to $10 either, I do have some props to give Star Lake. They at least let you have a good time in the parking lot before going inside (unlike Hershey Park and Stadium, where it is like a police state). How cool was this? - My two accomplices and I decided to have a few brews in the lot before the show (the traditional pre-concert tailgate). I brought cans, they had bottles. I noticed the sign saying no glass bottles, and alerted the other two about it. Star Lake security eventually came over, and instead of giving my accomplices a rough time about the bottles, handed both of them a stack of plastic cups to pour the brew in, so they wouldn't get busted for having bottles! (In Hershey, having bottles in the parking lot would have been punishable by public caning or crucifixion, and a night in the pokey!)

Last night was # 6 for me and like the 5 times prior they never disappoint the boys sure do know how to put on a show, It's this type of drive by 3 50 yr.+ gentlemen that inspires me to continue to do what I do and I can only hope that they ( RUSH) have no immediete plans of hanging it up. Big props to the band , the crew and the staff for again giving me an evening worth remembering.

Last year they flored me...they always end it with Tom Sawyer...and the started the show with it. So.. I'm curious.

How was the lighting? I saw them about 10 yrs. ago, and I have a show tech background, so I know how they did stuff, but the lighting effects blew me away. They made the entire Civic Arena look like it was ON FIRE. Flames from floor to ceiling. I also loved a tornado effect they did with the Vari-Lites, and the scene that combined giant blow-up rabbits with a rear-projected animated film... worth every penny of the admission price, and I seldom say that.
We sat stage right for that show, it was sold out but we waited for the seat-kills, and got seats 12 ft. from Geddy, with nobody else around us... it was like being onstage... and they had stereo audience fills set up over there so it sounded fantastic.------->JMS

All I know is ::hugs the shirt she got brought back from RUSH to death:: They had the dragon dude last year on the stage..and he burnt up his back stage pass... flames everywhere. I am still in awe.

It was my first time. And.. I mean.. I like alot of their stuff. Which from what I hear is sacrilidge. Must love and worship them. But.. I mean.. they're an awesome kick arse band who's been around a bajillion years and still rocking out peoples moms. So I give them kudos for that. And I can't wait to hear them again.
