Ignore option

Post by rreihart »

I sure would like the option to ignore certain users. Other boards have that option.

Just a thought.

You always have the option to ignore someone. Watch.

See?

I'm ignoring you.

a lot of threads wouldn't make any sense if you ignored certain members

I disagree. I think a lot of threads suck sometimes because of all the irrelevant BS I have to wade through. And most of the time, it's posted by the same 2 or 3 users.

Irrelevant? What's irrelevant about this?

I haven't been able to find any ignore mods available for this forum software that:

A. Are written by anyone notable and trustworthy.
B. Have been written within the past 2 years.
C. Won't put database accesses through the roof.
D. Won't cause problems with real updates to the forum software.

If I had a free week, I'd script my own ignore mod, but that would just be a waste of my time.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Exhausted all phpbb mod forums that I know of.
An ignore mod should be easy to write, but a secure ignore mod may be a different story.
