Everybody did.

The Pilot was so 'edgy' that ABC Network officials ordered it be re-scripted and re-worked, which led to the entire series being overtaken in a massive overhaul..

Apparently the pilot made network officials feel that cavemen living in Atlanta, dealing with social issues and discrimination would automatically make people associate the term "caveman" with black people... so the re-wrote the entire series, moved the set to San Diego and went from there..

They aired 6 episodes, incredibly funny and intelligent show. However they ran into some bad luck starting so close to the holidays that Charlie Brown holiday specials replaced weekly episodes, and after the Charlie Brown Christmas special took place, so did the writer's strike -- and Cavemen hasn't been seen since...

Recently they announced that Cavemen (along with Carpoolers, another hilarious show) will be returning on Wednesday nights in the 9:00-10:00 hour. Cavemen has 6 episodes remaining in it's first series, but no word on whether it'll be re-newed or not.

I saw Cavemen. I was a fan... before the sitcom, if you could call it that. I thought it was maybe the worst show aired in the last decade, and I watch enormous amounts of TV. Biggest problem?... it just wasn't funny. Boring to the point that I started reading a Cabela's catalog, and completely forgot the show was on my TV 8 feet away. I just tuned it out without even knowing.
