I can't get too down on the Steelers. Given how banged up they were, I thought they gave a valiant effort to take the lead in the second half; too bad Girard was able to break that run to get the Jags into field goal range to win it.

As I see it, what did the Jags really win? The privilege of getting their asses handed to them next weekend either at New England or Indy. (I seriously doubt they can beat either.)

I thought the Steelers had a decent season given the new head coach (remember, Cowher and Noll didn't get the Steelers to the promised land in their first seasons as head coaches, either) and the injuries. It was still an improvement over last season, and it will be interesting to see what Tomlin and the Steelers go for in the upcoming draft.

The reason we lost the game is special teams play. They sucked it up all year on special teams, and it was ultimately what did them in. As banged up as we were, we played hard. Either way, we wouldn't have gone into NE and beat them. At least we had a better year than last.

If we don't get a holding call on the first two point try, we would have kicked the next extra point and Jax would have needed a td to win it. I thought that was the play that most determined the outcome. :(
If you book them, they will come..... Night Train Rocks!!!!!!!

I agree, the holding call on the 2 point conversion was the deciding factor of this game. The game was a lot closer than I thought it would be, though. I was expecting Jacksonville to walk all over the Steelers.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

I can't figure why Pittsburgh wasn't ready for the quarterback draw on 4th and 2 at the 50 that set up their field goal. Duh.

The effing prevent defense again. Ummm, what was it that its supposed to prevent again?

I agree with you. The only thing the prevent defense does is prevent The Steelers from stopping the other team. How many games have they left the opposing team drive 80 yards with 2 or 3 minutes remaining in the game and kick a field goal to win?

So many things we could have done better. I still think we need to something about special teams, we can't give them the ball on our 1 yard line....we also can't give them great field position at the end of the game.

All the prevent defense does is prevent a team from winning the game.
