How many shows in 2007?
Usually around this time of year, somebody starts a thread like this. I may as well do it.
How many shows did your band do in 2007?
The Verge did 65 shows in our 1st year. Add one more for our 1st show on 12/30/06.

The Red Arrow Band in our first year out did around 50 gigs plus some free bee's. We all have demanding full time jobs and had to pass on midweek gigs. Our new line-up and job demands will let us book more next year.

VENT played 48 shows. There were 14 different lineups throughout the year.
5 Different drummers
3 Different singers
5 Different bass players.
1 Newly-diagnosed-with-high blood pressure riddled guitarist
Started off the year really strong, second half was trying to regain/rebuild. Ended
really well on New Year's Eve with, probably...no...easily....our best show since
July when Tal headed to LA.
Starting the new year like you should start a new year and trying to not only regain,
but excel.
How's that for a fortune cookie outlook?

Mama Corn: only 11 shows, amazing, considering the momentum we've achieved.
Mountain City: 17, near as I can guess
I also sat in with a bunch of bands, though not near as many as I have in the past, and my bluegrass jams keep me busy as well. I'm used to doing about 100 shows a year all told, so 2007 wasn't all that busy for me, show-wise. There was a LOT of rehearsal, though.---->JMS

Great thread
That's a tough one to answer for me. At the beginning of 2007 I was doing about 6 shows a week. For about 3 or 4 months I did 10 to 13 shows a week and got a little too burned out from it. Last few months have been 5 to 8 shows a week. That's probably where I'll keep it for a while. All my shows are 3 or 4 hours depending on the club. Happy New Years everyone!

I'm WAY over 365 shows this year. Please everyone don't think I'm bragging. I'm a very blessed man to be able to get to do 2 and 3 full shows a day almost every day. I owe the world to my brother John for loaning me the money to come here and I owe the world to Irish Kevins for letting me stay in their band condo for 8 months for free till I got my start down here. I had to leave Pennsylvania because the Castle Pub got shut down due to the unfair noise laws. I'm just answering the question of this thread.
ANY band wishing to play at Sloppy Joes can send their promo pack (live dvd is a requirement!) to Bobby or Louisa at Sloppy Joes Bar, 201 Duval Street, Key West, Florida, 33040. You will be required to play 7 nights in a row. They have in house drums (you bring cymbals and snare). They have an in house bass combo amp and a couple of in house guitar amps to choose from (most peeps bring their own amps). They have a band house that you will stay in for free a block and a half from the bar.
They frown on weekend warriors because alot of singers can't do 7 days in a row and usually hit the wall by the third night. It doesn't mean you'll never get booked, just keep that in mind. Some bands get around that by having other band members sing lead on some songs.
