So that's where they go after last call at Aldo's and before their shift starts at Hot Topic.

well i certainly don't expect the nu-metalheads to split sides in laughter while their posterboy hula hoops himself to the next Abercrombie and Fitch catalogue...

quick question... why is it that psuedo-goth "nu-metalheads" seem to be the only subgenre of people who haven't accepted looking normal? I mean.. I know gangstas, metalheads, rednecks, crust punks, and tough guys that don't wear the stereotypical garb... and that represents a good chunk of those subcultures... yet these kids refuse to let tent pants go

We can't help it!! All 3 of us punks here on RP need something to rebel against...at least in the fashion world.

BarFight...I think the answer to your question is simple. Some kids just can't let it go. If that's what a ''non-comformist'' nu-metalhead is supposed to wear, then goddamnit there will be a market for it. Especially at a trendy store like Hot Topic....fuck that place.

Cuz then their dads would quit calling them "little faggots" and they might have to find something else to do (like find a job/start a family) . Some of these "kids" are in their thirties now too. lol halloweens over, your almost 40. Nobody really thinks you're a zombie.

Just hang'em on a jacket-hook.

I can't lie...I did too. Though, I was in 6th grade. A few weeks after I started wearing them...I realized you can't skate well with them on. They found their way out of my wardrobe quickly.

I have a question too....why does it seem that every goth kid around the world owns a Slipknot t-shirt (nothing against the band, I kinda like them)???? I could see Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, or bands like that...but Slipknot???

Then again, maybe it was 50% off at Hot Topic.

Plus...I think this was a SAT question...lol.

If all goths are non-conformists, and all non-conformists conform. Then which of these statements are true?

A) All goths are the conformists
B) All Goths are nonconformists. They just lack in individuality.
C) What's a goth again???
D) Therapists and pharmaceutical drug companies welcome the announcement of the "Goth" lifestyle.

I guess I shouldn't say too much anyway. I own a black pirate shirt and tight pleather pants...lol. For those who don't know me, I'm 6'3" 292 lbs.

I bet the dude in the picture writes a lot of poetry using the words "forlorn," "Necro," and "Raven." He probably also fancies himself an intellectual because he read the first 25 pages of Atlas Shrugged and lights incense in his bedroom.

I'm definitely a metalhead. But i dont understand why people added the "Nu" part. It all comes back to a group of bands that thought making up a genre made them more unique or better in some way. Personally anyone who adds "nu" to anything is a total fucking douche.

As for the "guy" in the picture. Funny as hell. The "goth" crowd are very confusing and split. Some are actually gothic. Others its like they tried emo, Got their ass beat so went for a darker look but with the same gay flare.

P.S i like Slipknot! haha

Actually, if I were to take a guess, it was probably a term first coined by a music journalist or an A&R person.

"Numetal" is a term though that's been in use for quite a while. I think that it was first used to describe bands like Korn and the Deftones. I really don't think that the genre is really mainstream anymore right now. "Metalcore" seems to be the big style happening right now as far as heavier music.
