Talk about the worst luck ever.

Post by EyesOfAnguishbassist »

Ok well some of you may know we just bought a van off the local Mt Union beer distributor cuz everyone in the band was excited and we were gonna take it on our first trip to Club Octane tomorrow night. We purchased it last week, I drove it home then a trip around the block approximetly 3 times. I payed 50$ to transfer the title, and 100$ for the first monthly payment for insurance, and I was gonna go tomorrow before we left for the show to pay around 75$ to get tags. Well much to my amazement when i went to move it tonight I didnt have reverse whatsoever and it slips horribly in drive. Talk about pissed, I mean I know you could say its our fault for not checking it over closely but we did and it seemed fine. I dont know if theres a way you can doctor them up so they seem alright until you sell them to a sucker but I cant help but feel lots of hatred towards the guy who sold it to us. All I can say right now is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK IM MAD! :x

IT HAPPENS. KEEP GOING.

AND GOD BLESS YOU.

I bought a cheap car once and the same thing happened. I scored a used tranny at a junk yard and found someone to put it in. Got lucky!

Evaluate your options and just take the easist way out.

HAhahaha thats what everyone around here calls em too..

And we're gonna look for a used "transmission" but it sucks cuz we used all of our money just to get the van on the road and we're pretty much flat broke! lol we only paid 500$ for the van so im thinkin with what it will cost to buy a tranny and pay someone labor to fix it we'd be better off to buy another one.

Now for the fun today, We have 2 shows one tonight and one tomorrow and we gotta take 3 seperate cars just to get to em, and the one tonight is almost 3 hours away. Blah :(

I'm pretty sure you can rent a hitch too.

It wopuld have to be cheaper than driving 3 cars to a few shows.

Depends on the hitch...my advice would be to buy one instead of renting it. The small pull behind...with plenty of room to take a bands stuff is like $10 or $20 to rent. We did that for a show we played in NYC this past summer.

yeah there is but if he bought the van "as is" then he's screwed. i used to work at a used car lot and yes there are way to doctor things like that up so you can get rid of them.

try putting brake fluid in your transmission. that will expand the bands and should help you out. however this is only a temorpary fix. if that doesn't work then your tranny-mission. is fucked. pardon the pun.
i got the fries that will cross your eyes!!!!!!
i got the shakes that will make you quake!!!!
i got.......i just got burgers.

tranny

Post by zman1200 »

The torque converter usually goes bad then it destroyes the tranny .the radiator and tranny lines needs flushed and the torque converter needs to be new the tranny rebuilt .I have 2 garages that take care of my vehicles . and it is cheapppper to do it right the first time or try acouple quarts of LUCAS oil you might get lucky avoid brake fluid .do not over fill
