Kevin DuBrow - R.I.P.
Kevin DuBrow - R.I.P.
I just received word through my radio prep service that Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow passed away at the age of 52. There's not much posted about the passing yet, except on Blabbermouth.net:

I got to meet Kevin and Quiet Riot when they played at new Sebastiano's in the early 90's.

Kevin
That does suck.
I always enjoyed a little Quiet Riot here and there, matter of fact I'm gonna throw in Condition Critical and burn one.
Thanks for the info, Jim.

I can't believe I'm seeing this. I got to see QR in Wilkes-Barre at the Rock Never Stops tour and he looked to be in good health then. What a shame. The world lost a great frontman. RIP Kevin.

On November 26th,1983....Quiet Riot was the first heavy metal band to have an album reach #1.
I first got to see QR in 01 on the Glam Slam Metal Jam tour (Poison, Warrant, QR and Enuff Znuff). I attended 4 shows and watched as they blew Warrant off the stage each time. Also got to see them on the Rock Never Stops tour with Cinderella. And again I watched as they made a complete mockery of Jizzy Pearl's Ratt.
He's with Randy now. And I'm sure St. Peter is banging his head.

The first time I ever sat down behind a drum kit, I snuck into the band room in Jr High and played the opening drum part to Cum on Feel the Noize. I know it's a Slade tune, but QR made it famous, and were (arguably) the first metal band to go #1 on the album chart, mainly cuz of this tune.
And a few years ago, my band was opening for Bad Hair Day at The Staircase near Wilkes-Barre. One of my good friends that I met thru BHD was there and he is a huge QR fan. Since he was there, we played Let's Get Crazy - one of those QR tunes that kicks total ass, but gets lost in the Metal Health / Feel the Noize / Crazee Now hit mix. The crowd loved it, and Joe paid me a great compliment, that I did the best Kevin Dubrow he'd ever heard.
He's no doubt already playing with Randy again. And I'll never forget how their music was so much a part of my life.
Rest in Peace, Kevin.

What a life that guy lived! He is a legend. He made history with his band & played with some of the finest musicians. He did alot of things, good & bad, like most of us, except he did it at the big dance. He'll always be remembered as he carved his name in the stone of music history.
I gave you my heart. Whatever God gave me.

nothin like using your boyfriend's death to promote yourself. Sounds like a real winner.
