The Execution in Iraq

Post by FatVin »

You know, I have been politically liberal most of my adult life. Well that just ended.

I was watching Fox News and I heard Shepard Smith (or whoever) describe the beheading of an American Business man by Muslim Extrmemists as revenge for the prison thing that is in the news.

These terrorists would have done this even if the prison thing never broke, our current military scandal was simply an excuse for the vile and horrific acts of violence that has been perpretrated on an American Citizen.

I know there are people who say we shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place but can you justify this?

Sure, what happened to the prisoners was wrong and those who did it deserve punishment and they will be punished

but nothing justifies what was done to Nick Berg.

We must stamp these terrorists out, period.

Don't ya get it, they cut his fuckin head off with a knife on television

(okay it was internet footage but if they had TV access they would have used it.)

Let's not get confused here, I'm talking about extremeists and terrorists not any neighbors you might have that don't happen to be Chirstians, It is my sincere hope that no faithful American citizen who happens to be a Muslim suffers so much as a split-end over this.

I'm talking about the kind of sub-human scum that preys on the goodwill of others for some half baked aganda, I'm talking about terrorists

We should make every effort imaginable to find them and wipe them from the face of the earth, like we would exterminate a hive of cockroahes.

We should scour the land from top to bottom, search every farmhouse, outhouse, hen house and dog house until we find these people and bring them to justice and if our weapons inventory is a few MOAB's lighter that's okay by me

If we don't find these and stamp out these terror cells, they will spring up like demonic dandilions all over the planet and no one will be safe anywhere, ever!

go to michaelsavage.com to see pics of the vid. It's disgusting and where is the outrage in this country? You are absolutely right fat vin.

You can actually see the video for yourself on ConsumptionJunction.Com under the vids section. The terrorists are horrible and this is thier religion. The scream Allah Allah Allah right when they start cuttiing off his head. Very sickening and I think everyone should see this, it's hard to watch, but it may open your eyes to what we are fighting.

Ask any d-day survivor what he thinks should be done,I asked one and he said Global ,political ass kissing in this day of age has put the gun in the politician's hand and left the soldier to either hurry up and wait or run for your very life.He said wars should be won swift and strong with the utmost conviction, that even at this stage of the war on terrorism we desperatly need a man in uniform and not a suit to wage hellfire on anybody even remotely connected to terrorism,a man like Colin Powell and not Rumsfeld. As far as torture in prison's go,he says the only mistake we made was photograghing and taping any of it,that real torture is being burned alive on the street or being filmed making a statement you did'nt write before they saw your head off with a knife. The politically correct half of this country needs to wake up to the reality of war and the consequences that come with it.When we finished our beers he said god bless my family and my sons and if he could still fight he would be over there now.The honor and conviction in his handshake and in his eyes made me wish our leaders would get thier shit in a pile and soon even if it takes replacing them.

Billy, man, there's a song in that story. You really need to write that one.

It's time for a new tactic. We are not at war with a country. We are at war with a particular segment of a particular religion. Remember Shock and Awe? They ran like rats when the f**king sky started falling... it's time for that again. Here's my battle plan:
Wait for the "call to prayer" (it won't be long, they have to do that about every 15 minutes) let them go inside the mosque, flash of light and loud bang, when the Islam-o-fascists exit what's left of the building, they are greeted by the Black Death Choppers of the Apocalypse, whose machine guns swiftly turn these young Arab princes into Imam-burger. Tape the whole thing, and post it on Al Jazeera's website, and 60 Minutes II. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. When Iraq no longer has a mosque left standing, move to Iran. Then Syria. Or go straight to Mecca and get it done right away.
America now knows the difference between mistreatment and atrocity. It's time the Arab world learns that, like us or not, we have the power to save their world, and the power to eliminate it. F*ck PC.------>JMS

Billy, it would be an insult to Colin Powell if he was demoted from Secretary of State to Secretary of Defense. Rumsfeld is not a problem, he just isn't politically appealing to Dan Rather & friends. Sure, he was never a general (he made naval captain=full bird colonel), but he had already been Secretary of Defense under Ford and was honored with the Medal Of Freedom. There are few more qualified for the job.

The problem here is not so much with the administration as it is with the press's behaviour. During WWII, front line press conferences were sometimes "secret" and the press would know about an operation before it happened, but they would not report it until after the fact. Do ya think we can trust them today? I don't think so. Remember when an amphibious marine assault into Somalia was greeted by a corps of press?

Where's the outrage? I don't see it in the interviews. I sure as hell don't see it from our "friends" in the middle east. You will soon see it in the war zone as our troops weed out these bushwackers and murderers.

Songsmith, that would be great if these bushwackers all went to the same mosques, or if pro-U.S. mosques would put up a blue flag and bushwacker mosques put up a red flag. Unfortunately, everybody blends in and you can't tell who's friendly or not.

Although I'm sure that Muslims & Judeo-Christians can get along just fine, I don't think that Islam and Judeo-Christian religions can co-exist. One's word is crusade and the other calls it jihad.

You are soooo right with that statement!!

I was just on aol.com (trying to check my aol email from work). I was amazed to see their top story is still "Iraq Prison Scandal". It seems like the media wants us all to feel bad for what happened to those prisoners, but they wouldn't want to offend anyone with the execusion story. No, no, no!! That would be giving some credibility to the reasons we are AT WAR with Terror.

I don't think I would get so upset if the media were just unbiased and would present us with all sides of every issue instead of always leaning towards the left and always staying completely PC.

Solution:

01. Pull out all of the troops.
02. Carpet bomb, heavily, for about year.
03. Pave that shit and make the worlds largest parking lot.

Manowar said it best.....voilence and bloodshed!

I still fail to see the so called "liberal bias" in the media. For every Dan Rather, and Ted Koppel, there's a Joe Scarborough or Bill O' Reilly, but anyways......

Both acts are horrendous and I hope that everyone involved in both acts are punished for war crimes.

Hey big deal if they dressed 'em up in womens underwear, thats no different than getting drunk, passing out and having your buddies write all over, cover ya with shaving cream or paint ya up or something like that. Cutting someones head off is a little different, even a little harsh treatment isn't as bad as cutting someones head off!!!

I've heard in the Conservative press that the prisoners in the photo's were not your average garden-variety looters or wrong-place-wrong-time guys, they were in Cellblocks 1A and 1B, reserved for roadside bombers and hardcore violent insurgents. If this is true, they were being treated more than fairly. I wouldn't balk at pictures of them being beaten, if they are men who set out to kill our people. Lindy English was on the news this morning, and I tend to believe her explanation. Being naked around a Western woman is about as embarrassing as getting wood at the beach... so if that works, do it. POW's who have information about violent acts need to give up said info, and at least they aren't being killed. I've never been killed, of course, but I have had wood at the beach. :) I'm betting it's not quite as bad.
I'd like to see Hollywood use a little special effects magic to set them on their ass. Maybe a grainy video of Osama getting his head cut off, or better yet, "driving the Hershey Highway." I bet they'd look at him a bit differently. Where's the National Enquirer when you need them!---->JMS

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRGGGGGHHH!!!! I can't take these liberal headlines/stories on the newswires. Out of 6 headlines:

"Lawmakers Shocked by New Images of Iraqi Prisoners"

"Lawmakers Say New Abuse Photos Disturbing"

and, to make it sound like "I told you so":

"FBI: Agents Advised Berg to Leave Iraq"

I guess that makes it OK to brutally hack a person's head off.

WTF is this? Convolution in the 1st degree. I can handle that 91% of journalists freely admit to being liberal, but this is shameless.

The liberal leftist media is ridiculous.. oooohh Some dogs were "menacing Iraqi prisoners." Lets get those dogs on trial as quick as we can. We should have them up at a Senate comtee hearing any day now. Then have them spayed and nuetered!

It is funny how the headlines remain focused on some prisoner "abuse" I am sure this poor 26 year old man from Pennsylvania would rather have his head- and have been posed in some non flattering/demeaning pictures depicting sexual situations.

Whatever....

I went and found the video on the net after reading this thread yesterday... The video is very sick and not easy to watch.. however, I think people should watch the video because it shows what kind of people we are dealing with...
bassist_25 wrote:Both acts are horrendous and I hope that everyone involved in both acts are punished for war crimes.
Bassist_25... I think both parties should be punished... however what the terrorists did was not a war crime in my opinion... He was not a soldier... He was murdered...

I came to work today and asked several co-workers if they saw the video... some did... some didn't... but I was shocked at the responses I got from people when I brought it up... some said "What was he doing over there in the first place?" I agree that going to Iraq when you aren't in the military isn't the smartest thing to do, but that doesn't mean he deserves to die... Statements like the one I just mentioned justify treating foreigners poorly... Should we kill foreigners in this country? I hate when people say crap like "wrong place , wrong time" F that... what happened is wrong no matter where or when it happened... another statement I heard was "it was payback for the prison abuse" F that! I agree that prisoners shouldn't be raped and such... and the people that did that should pay for what they did... however... as I stated before.. this man was not a soldier... in addition to that... when you support the "revenge" statement... you justify what they did... as your mother told you.. two wrongs don't make a right...

bottom line... what happened to that PA man is horrible... no excuses...
and if you disagree... then watch the video...

He was there for $$ he wanted to land a contract and if you a.) want the business that bad. b.) Have the balls to go to Iraq to get it. Then the risks of doing business are great , This guy had to know that being there at a time like this was not a good idea and he went any way. Again I stress I think what happened is HORRIBLE all I'm saying is people will do the dumbest things for $$ and this bargain didn't pay.
I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood

Paul,

I really wouldn't equate Bill O'Reilly to the mainstream media. He has his own forum and his own followers and so on.

When I talk about liberal bias in the media, I am looking at most peoples main source of news information - NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and most local newspapers. Fox is the only one that seems to drift towards center at times. Most peoples source of news information is very much biased towards the left.

I would just like to see an unbiased (completely unbiased) news source. Show us both sides of the issue if need be - but give the truth a chance!!!!!

Grimm...

I can agree with what you said... people need to use their better judgement... but my thought, in addition to yours is that... it's dangerous to go walking in certain parts of certain citys... people still do it... some get robbed... some get killed... some may have went there to get drugs or to visit friends, family or just to sight see... we need to make sure we don't put the blame on the people who are "somewhere they shouldn't be" (a term I hate, despise and pains me to use) and make sure we put the blame on the scum that make places undesirable to visit...

I posted this on another thread but now that I think about it it probably belongs on this one even more:

The part I just don't get about terrorism is that, it's never worked. Never once.

Since the late 40's, The Palestinians have been blowing themselves to bits trying to destroy Israel and the Israelis are still there.

The Irish have lobbed bomb after bomb at english soldiers and the brits and the protestants have been there since Henry VIII,

In the 60's and 70's German communist cells used terror plots to bring down capitalism, How's capitalism doin these days?

in this country the KKK used terror tactics to keep blacks from getting the vote and to segregation in place, anybody know how that turned out?

The guys aren't revolutionaries or even political operatives, they are just fucking psycopathic thugs.

If they really wanted us out they would do the one thing that HAS worked, pacive resistance, Ghandi pretty much kicked the brits out of india and using the same tactics MLK got a better deal for minoties herre at home it's the only tactic that is proven to do what these guys say they want done.

These guys don't really want that, They want you and me and our kids and their kids dead, they are thugs and viciuos murderers and they can't all die soon enough for me.

This is a war and we need to commit ourselves to that fact.

I have to agree with Sanctify, the "He shouldn't be there" arguement just sounds similar to the socialogical phemonenon known as "Belief in a just world". (It's the belief that when bad things happen to people, they made decisions that placed them there. i.e. homeless are homeless because they are lazy, people with AIDS have the diease because they are homosexuals, ect.) In this case, saying he shouldn't have been there would be a belief in a just world. I opted to not watch the video; I just have no interest in watching a man be decapitated. (and what's that say about the mental state of all you who have watched it. ;) Just joking) Maybe I just have a weak stomach. "Hey Man, Nice Shot" is a cool Filter song, but I don't think I want to watch footage of the politician shooting himself. I think this incidient shouldn't be looked at from any other aspect other than, it's a horrendous act because a human being was killed. It shouldn't matter where he's from, or why he was there.

Tom, you know, it's funny; a lot of people consider Fox to have a right-wing agenda. I don't know, I haven't really watched the channel. I've been pretty busy with work, playing music, and getting ready for school, so I haven't had the time to keep up with news like I use to. I usually watch MSNBC when I check out the news. (And I even watch Scarborough Country, and Real Time with Dennis Miller. I even like conservatives as long as they're sensible. It's just the hate-monging idiots like Savage and Coulter that I can't stand.) I don't know, I think the news hasn't been all that pro-libby during this war. They made Jessica Lynch a hero because she was captured. (Someone explain to me how getting captured makes you a hero. The guys who rescued her are heros. Getting captured doesn't make you a hero. But that's a whole other thread. ;) ) I guess it's just hard to be objective. If you are a conversative, the media is going to appear liberal, when you are a liberal, it's going to appear conservative. It's funny, they say the older you get, the more conservative you become; it seems the older I get, the more liberal I become. :?

You know, the Iraqi prisoners shouldn't have been mistreated in the world's view.

Personally, in my view, they should have been shot and burned. Screw em all and the press and everybody else who is pushing this issue day in and day out. We are targets when we don't play by the rules or adhere to the Geneva convention laws, but what the fuck no one else does eigher. We are in the world's sights when something goes wrong. I didn't read or hear 500 times about the Americans who were shot, burned, and hung from a bridge. If the media releases more pictures which are supposedly real bad, they are just stirring up the bees nest even more. We should pull out, let the militias and religious groups kill each other, and let total chaos prevail in Iraq. Oh that's right, then we would be the bad guys for leaving the country like that. Oh wait, we can't stay there either because every country is pissed we went in there in the first place. Screw em all.

I just read two quotes that I had to share on this thread:
Urbs

“It's time to put up or shut up. If the media wants to advance the Abu Ghraib story rather than wallow in it, its course is clear. It can help Americans ‘appreciate’ the Nick Berg beheading by showing it over and over. I don't know if that would be a good idea, but at least the press would be consistent.”

- Columnist Jonah Goldberg

“As I write on Wednesday afternoon, the CBS News web site continues to offer a complete ‘photo essay’ of naked Iraqi men being humiliated by Americans in a variety of poses.  But the video of (Nick) Berg's beheading, CBS says, ‘is too gruesome to show.’ . . . What exactly is the governing rule here?  That incendiary images sure to enrage our enemies and get more Americans killed should be published, while images that show the world just how evil those enemies really are should be suppressed?  Offensive and shocking pictures that undermine the war effort should be played up, but offensive and shocking pictures that remind us why we're at war in the first place shouldn't get played at all?”

- Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby
