That is so awsome. I will do that for him. I respect anyone that has fought for us.. My favorite uncle is being deployed to Iraq very soon so that is something that touches my heart. I hope that everyone else will also take the time to show some appreciation to that person as well.

You might want to double check that.

I'm not sure what organization or address it is, but I was told by word of mouth that one of these is not valid or there is some error with the address. I will try to find out which one it is.

Sorry, wish I had more info but figured I would throw the warning out there.

This is a HOAX.

Army warns of holiday mail ‘hoax’

Staff report
Posted : Friday Nov 9, 2007 17:25:42 EST

The Army is warning the public of a “hoax” e-mail asking recipients to send holiday mail to soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

The e-mail instructs recipients to send Christmas cards to “A Recovering American Soldier,” and lists Walter Reed’s Washington, D.C., mailing address.

But the U.S. Postal Service won’t deliver any such card, letter or care package.

Under a 2001 policy designed to improve security, the medical center can’t accept mail addressed to “Any Wounded Soldier” or “A Recovering American Soldier.”

Lt. Col. Kevin Arata, a spokesman for Army Human Resources Command, said his office has been inundated with inquiries from the public about the e-mail.

“It’s not true,” he said. “Don’t do it.”

Instead, Arata said, members of the public wishing to spread holiday cheer should consult the military’s “American Supports You” Web site for information about more than 300 nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping U.S. soldiers and their families.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Right on Brother it's the thought that counts.I have family in the desert as we speak. We all may not agree on why,but those cats have no choice.Sometimes i fly off the hook on some of these issues and probably piss a few people off with my posts.Truth be known,i don't really care.God bless America and those who stand up for her.Right or wrong.Peace

It really sucks that people do this kinda junk. In spite of my typical cynicism, I do really believe that there're good people in this world. I just don't understand why it's so "human" these days to take full advantage of charity in the name of their own greed

It was a cool attempt Plum. Glad somebody caught this with no accidental damage. Keep fighting the good fight, and don't let a mistake discourage that side of you. The world needs a LOT more good people in it
