Agreed.

Edit: Okay, I saw the band was from Altoona, so I assume they're related to Gazoo somehow (is this one of his son in law's bands?). I didn't want to seem like I was just poo-pooing something, but the song has no hook to speak of at all, the vocal performance is very rough, the lyrics need reworked, and the guitar tone has a very heavily processed and digital sound to it. The recording itself lacks balls. Again, I don't want to seem like an opinionated jerk, but when something gets put out to the public, you have to take the constructive criticism with the accolades.

Can you excuse me.. I'm just trying to find the bridge...

Where's that confounded bridge....

Kinda reminds me of that old Cheech and Chong song..

"Mama Papa talking try to tell me how to live" Duh Du Duh, Duh Du Duh, Duh, Duh, Duh,...

"But they don't listen to me cause my mind is like a sieve" Duh du Duh, Duh Du Duh, Duh, Duh, Duh,..

hehe...

I'd say if this is a first effort, it's okay. You've established a basic rhythm, and a guitar groove over it. There's some lead stuff in there, and the groove matches the pissed-off message of the song.
I'd go back to the drawing board, though, it's not even close to being finished. You're headed in the right direction, but there a still a few things left to do:
There needs to be some tension and resolution. You have the tension building, but there's no release... no payoff. Keep the trancy chugging groove, but break it up with a "middle part" that's somewhat different. That's the "bridge" that Panzer Faust is talking about. It breaks up the monotony a bit, and makes it more interesting.
The vocalist needs to get pissed off even more. He's saying angry stuff. Get angry. If the singer ain't feelin' it, the song's a dud from the first word. Music is about relating or eliciting emotion.
Rewrite some of the lyrics. Rapping is talking, and if anybody's going to give a sh*t about what you say, you have to find a way to say it that's going to really catch their ear. You can't just stick to a particular meter, which is what they call the rhythm of what you're saying.
The rhythmic meter of the lyrics kinda sounds like "Boom badda BOOM, boom badda BOOM, boom badda BOOM," the whole way through the song. You could change that rhythm to anything you want, and still put the emphasis on the second "BOOM." Or not. You can do whatever fits into the groove of your song. It's your song.

It's not so terrible for a first effort. Don't be discouraged. It just isn't finished yet.----------->JMS

As RobtheDrummer mentioned above, it does remind me a little of Butthole Surfers' "Pepper."

I agree with what songsmith said; it's not a bad start, but needs developed more. The vocalist needs to mix up the intensity level and drama a little more, and incorporate tension and release. Sell the anger of the lyrics a little more.

But overall, it's a start. Keep plugging away and working at it.
