I often wonder what it would be like to have a secular president. He (or she
) doesn't have to be an athiest, but just make religion a non-issue. Oh wait, Howard Dean did that and his campaign went down the crapper. Of course, we could sit and delineate all of the reasons why Dean's campaign went down hill. (but you can bet, everyone's going to be copying his internet stragedies come next election. He proved that you don't need to run a campaign based on millions of special interests' dollars) I guess it just comes down to people want someone they can identify with. I rather have someone who will do a good job running the country. I could care less if he was a Christain, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist.....hell, he could be a Scientologist for all I care. Sometimes I wonder where people's priorities are.

I just want to say that Bush isn't the problem, Bush is a moronic puppet put where he is to fulfill the goals of the Assholes who controll him.
I will say that he is stupid enough to not even know it also! I also think that he actually thinks that he is being religious!
The people running things are going to keep it the same way as long as they can! That will be an eternity! Know Why?
They (polliticians) have trained the public well over the last couple hundred years. They wouldn't dare lie to all of us because with the millions of people who are listening they would get caught! Right?
You know they are full of shit. I know they are full of shit. But we as a collective actually get dummer, and lazy anough to think that SOMEONE else will stand up and say WTF. RIGHT?
Well we are still waiting! aren't we?
God forbid someone does stand up, cause we all love to call them fanatics and crazies don't we!!!!
Disclaimer: These ramblings are my opinion from 1:25 - 1:40 and have probably changed three times since and should only be taken seriously by fanatics.

I just wish that following 9/11 that the White House would have had the nuts to say "We are so pissed off that someone F@#ked with us that we are going to go kick the shit out an Arab nation or two to make all of America feel better" That would have been so much more truthful than the non stop self righteousness that we have heard since then. Also, I can't stand the religious right being such a strong lobby and manipulating the Presidency like they do. I don't think that's what JC had in mind for any of us. Furthermore, (while I'm bitchin') I wish there was a box on the ballot that says "None of these! Get someone else" The choices we are given are usually no wins and frankly no brainers as far as Big Brother gives us the choice of two guys that Big Brother is going to control anyway. I could go on all day; so I'll just end here.
A philosophy professor once told me that National politics is just like professional wrestling except you meet a nicer class of people.....

The problem with running for president these days is that the process is so invasive and degrading that no one who is truly qualified wants the job, you think Abe Lincoln or FDR could get elected these days?
I don't think this country elects a camera shy self educated lawyer or a man in a wheelchair. Not in this day and age. so we get W. and we get Gore and we get Kerry, none of whom, have anything close to the IQ or the charachter it takes to hold such responsibilities.
The real problem is that anyone truly capable of statesmanship either get nailed by a lot bullshit that doesn't really matter or has far too much personal dignity to get down in the mud with the other little piggies.
This is why we ALL MUST vote, only by voting can we get rid of the radical right and the rediculous left.
When only 35% of eliglble people vote, that's when you get Specter and Schuster represnting us in Congress and W. in the oval., That's when you get stupid laws that are contrary to the laws of physics on the books for 20 years and That's when you get corruption and apathy, when we don't vote. so get registered and Vote!
The GOP in this area isn't gonna listen to anything we say or want cause they know that people will vote Republican cause they've always voted republican and that's the way it is, the Democrats won't even bother to set up an office in this area cause, they know that people will vote Republican cause they've always voted republican and that's the way it is.
How is any thing gonna change for the better if The Democrats don't see an opportunity and the GOP knows that whatever they do is cool, they're gonna win?
Did you vote in the Primary? Are you gonna vote in November?
You guys don't like W.? Then Vote against him, you hate the religious right, then Vote agaist their canidates, if enough people vote against them, the politicians will stop listning to them, So Vote!

Like it or not, no matter who is in the white house, the standing U.S. policy toward the middle east is based around one idea:
Eliminate middle eastern economic power and influence by depleting the one major resource in the region: oil
This has been national security policy since the early 70s. The security establishment doesn't change with administrations and neither does their policies. Only their budgets and the intensity/frequency of overt actions are affected. Generally, republican presidents will take more action toward this policy than democrats.
I am curious. What do you thing Al Gore (you know, the guy who invented the internet) would have done after 9/11?

I think Al Gore would have bombarded those Middlle Eastern Trouble Makers with vicious emails calling them names and generally ridiculing there culture. But really, I would have hoped that maybe we would have focused on the real issue here (ossama bin fuckin ladin) and not used the whole tragic mess as a way to out do our daddy. I mean come on! I got Saddam and you didn't! I can just hear old George sayin "Yeah but you dedstroyed the middle class! Where are you going to get your low salary management now! Ha Ha Ha!"
Also be aware, I am not happy with government as it exists today. I am however glad and proud to be American. My dislike for our president appoint does not impact my great love and respect for the majority of the American people, nor does it affect my Love of My Country!
I think the founding fathers must be rolling in their graves when they look at the convoluted mess we have created.

Bush is awesome. He's doing the right thing and it's pretty pathetic how the media portrays him only because he has an R by his name. If a Democrat were in office bombing people, we wouldn't hear anything. The point is, he is erradicating the earth of scum and that needs to be done to protect the safety of US! So quit being simpathetic to these crazy idiots over there and let President Bush do his job. If you look at what he has done, he has really done a great job.

Over There
I am not worried about over there ! I know we need to be there I mean who else would get all the weapons of mass destruction out of there?
I my friend am worried about here we are being robbed of our civil liberties in the name of safety.. Come on this is all a cover so we don't see all the shit he's really doing, Ben Franklin once said "anyone who would give up freedom for security deserves neither" ! And that's what is going on right under our noses ! Read the patriot act man ! Invasion of privacy! And before you have the chance to respond with the usual answer ( well if you're not doing anything wrong then there's nothing to worry about ) I remind you that the Jews were doing NOTHING wrong in Germany BUT 1 man thought they were and look what happened to them !!

Good points about party affliation. Instigators for either polititical party don't help the cause though. You have idiots like Limbaugh and Savage on the right, blaming all the problems on liberals, but then you have idiots on the left such as Carville and Franken talking about how evil the right is. It's like no one wants to talk about the actual issues. Why does it have to be an "Us" and "Them" issue. Personally, I like politicians that don't fit into orthodox categories. I really like guys like Jesse Ventura and John McCain. I don't think that people's political beliefs can be put into a box so easily. That's what's so great about third party candidates. I also like how many independent parties are candid about what they believe in. When you go to the Green Party website, there's a list of what the Green Party stands for. It's not like the Democrats, who stand for one thing one year, and then the exact opposite the next. Or the Republicans who keep using the same policies when they fail year after year.

It may seem like this and maybe a whole other list of things on the surface, but with the security establishment, things are never as they seem to be.and not used the whole tragic mess as a way to out do our daddy.
The oil depletion policy I mentioned above was a passive policy of importing and consuming as much middle eastern oil as possible while preserving U.S. reserves as much as possible. That all changed on 9/11/01. The security establishment immediately changed to a pro-active policy that includes military intervention.
Iraq is sitting on one of the largest oil reserves yet discovered. Meanwhile, the U.N. was boycotting Iraqi oil since 1990. This does not fit in well with the oil depletion policy. The Iraqi oil valve had to be opened and the security establishment had to find a wrench to turn the valve...9/11 gave them that wrench.
This is not over money or oil or even showing up daddy...ultimately its over the hunger for world power.

Interesting, I never knew that about the oil. But that brings me to my next question: Does that mean gas prices will go down, and I won't have to get a loan from the bank just to fill up my car?

I have only seen the gas prices go up. I would be surprised to see anything different.
I have to say that I am also pleasantly surprised by the intelligence and reason that is voiced in this forum. Most of the points are well thought out and voiced in a very articulate manner. Kudos to all again and keep the enlightenment coming.

What do you think of our beloved Prez?
I really doubt he said that at all. It doesn't even sound like something he would say. Actually a reporter claims that the Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abas claims that GW said it in a meeting. That sounds like typical BS to me.
What do I think of President Bush? I am glad to have a no-bullshit president in office.
Here is a snippet from an on-line story about it that makes a lot of sense.
Before you jump to any conclusions, remember that you are reading a translation of a translation of a translation. Mahmoud Abas does not speak English. Bush does not speak Arabic. If Bush said these words, or something like them, Abas heard them from a translator. Then Abas repeated them, as he remembered them a couple of weeks later, in Arabic. Some unknown person wrote down what he thought he heard Abas say. Then Regular, or someone at Ha'aretz, translated them back into English-or perhaps first into Hebrew and then into English.

I will concede that there is a level of uncertainty to this quote. I will not concede the economic state of our country though.
I write Rock'n'Roll songs, I am not a politician. I don't see the same level of optimism from the general public that I have seen in the past.
I guess history shall tell us the truth when she is ready.

That's hard to say. It looks as though oil is settled in at around $35-$40 a barrel with a few spikes here and there. If that is maintained, then gas prices should stabilize at present levels, barring any refinery shutdowns.Does that mean gas prices will go down, and I won't have to get a loan from the bank just to fill up my car?
One of the results of $35/barrel oil is the activation of previously dormant spot wells in Texas and Oklahoma. They are very expensive to operate and are not economically feasable unless oil is over $30/barrel. This is also counteractive to the oil depletion policy, since we are producing more at home which offsets mideastern imports and depletes our own reserves. You may be surprised to know that the U.S. is the #1 producer of oil in the world. We just use twice as much as we produce.
I wouldn't be surprised if the establishment takes "steps" to knock down the price of oil in the near future. I would expect them to work thru the administration in an overt manner, since lower oil prices would also increase GWB's popularity for the election. The establishment operates with either party in office, but they prefer republicans.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
I've been a registered Donkey for years, but vote for the person, not the party.
I bring that up because for the primary last week, the Donkey ballot didn't have any real races between candidates, except the Donkey Presidential race (which was decided weeks ago, I hope Governor Rendell succeeds in moving the Keystone State primary up to earlier on the primary schedule so it actually impacts the Presidential race for a change). The other "races" were just "rubber stamp" votes for people running unopposed! All the heated contests were on the Elephant ballot. The only thing we registered Donkeys could do was either "rubber stamp" or not "rubber stamp" the unopposed candidates, and vote on that referendum about allocating taxpayer money for improving water and sewage systems in PA. Talk about feeling useless at the polls!

I want to know how our civil liberties are being robber? Where's the evidence. I still have the same freedoms that I've always had. All the libs have to do is say ignorant BS and never back up the facts. The fact is, These extremists want to see us dead and laugh at us because the media sticks up for them. It makes no sense. This whole stupid crap about us treating Iraqi prisoners is blowing up, but where was the media when Saddam was killing his own people, where was the media when these arab murderers killed an Israeli her young daughters and shot her in the stomach to make sure her baby was dead in the womb? There is something wrong here in the name of politics. Imagine how ww2 would have went in these politically defunct times. We would have pulled out and apologized to hitler after d-day. It's BS, why can't some people realize that?
Oh and another thing, if the war was about oil, then why are the oil prices so high...you know, since we went in there to take all the oil. WE DIDN'T!! The oil companies and OPEC are in charge and that's why we are getting raped at the pumps!

Bush must go
I don’t remember voting for god in any Presidential election. Now all of a sudden GWB is god’s other son and claims to get guidance to go to war. God must have had sand in his eyes when he told Bush to invade Iraq seeing as how there were no WMD’s. But hey….god said it so it must be ok, right?
Your civil liberties are in danger…wake up. Want proof, listen up.
Visit www.howardstern.com to read proof about how President Bush and the FCC are robbing him of his 1st amendment rights and it’s only getting worse. Weather you agree with his show or not this issues goes far beyond Howard Stern. If the government and GWB have their way HBO, Showtime, and all other cable outlets will be able to be fined and lose their liscence to broadcast. It is only a matter of time before this spreads to the music industry and you as artists will not be aloud to exercise freedom of speech.
Here are some quick BUSH hits:
-Disney owns Miramax Films and Disney are NOT releasing a new movie by Michael Moore that points out how Bush got Osama bin Laden’s family out of America right after the September attacks along with other interesting Bush FACTS that he does not want you to know. (Disney is based out of Florida where the presidents brother Jeb is the gov and Disney fears him)
-The FCC put a new bill to congress that will pass in the next few weeks that states the government can fine YOU personally $500,000 for being what they say is “indecent” on the airwaves or television. So imagine if you’re on stage and you’re being broadcast over radio or tv and you say a curse word that someone finds offensive…..guess what…you are going to be personally fines half a million dollars by the FCC. Does that sound like your civil liberties are being violated?
-One week after Howard Stern came out against Bush he was fined by the FCC for a 3 year old broadcast and it cost $575,000. He was fired from 6 markets including Pittsburgh and Florida.
All this stuff and so much more is true and happening all because of one man and his religious right agenda. Bush is killing your freedoms and killing the First Amendment.
Don’t forget to vote in November!

Let me just voice my opinion here. George W. is NOT doing a good job. He's been costing us Americans jobs since day 1. Saddam did NOT fly planes into the WTC, he's a dispicable human being to HIS people. Who's job was it to oust him? The IRAQIS. Iraq is a mess and way worse off than it was before, AND i'LL BE DAMNED IF WE SHOULD BE SACRIFICING OUR LIVES FOR THOSE PUSSIES WHO CAN'T STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES, and it did NOT have anything to do with 9/11. Ask people who are sacrificing loved ones what they think of this whole Iraq bullshit. And they will tell you IT'S BULLSHIT. I was in constant worry for over a year while my wife was a reservist in Iraq. I'm just glad she made it home safe, unlike so many others who died in vain in Iraq. FUCK GEORGE W. AND FUCK HIS ADMINISTRATION.
