I can't comment on the Skullbusters, but I am an avid Blue Steels fan. I haven't used them though in a couple of months, because I like to switch normal strings out every 5 - 6 gigs, and it was just getting too expensive to do that (Hey Dean Markley, wanna give a nobody from Houtzdale a string endorsement? :D ). So now I'm using DR coated strings.

The Blue Steels always seemed to have more tension than any other string that I've used. They always had a really tight and focused bottom to them, a snappy high-end - maybe to snappy for some - and very punchy mids. I think that the DRs are excellent strings, but I still have never found a string that I like as much as the Markleys. Even buying another pack right now would mean another set-up for me, because as you said, they are a heavier string.
