You know, I've heard of these guys a long time ago, but never heard them or knew what they played.
I really like this stuff. They remind me of old Queensryche, and Psycho Scream put together.
Thanks alot for posting this! Now I have to find some of this stuff.

Re: Icarus
When I first heard Icarus Witch, I thought nearly the same thing - except I thought a mix of early Queensryche and Iron Maiden. The Psycho Scream reference is interesting since Icarus Witch has been playing some recent shows with Dofka, who are basically Psycho Scream with a different singer.metalchurch wrote:You know, I've heard of these guys a long time ago, They remind me of old Queensryche, and Psycho Scream put together.

Yeah, Jim Dofka is a killer on guitar. I saw him with Black Sunday about 8 or 9 years ago. What a blast! He''s such a nice guy too.
Last I heard, Tim Aymar (the original singer for Psycho Scream) was delivering pizza's in Pittsburgh.
I'm looking for a good digital copy of:
Psycho Scream's 'Virtual Insanity'
I have it on cassette but it has seen it's better days.

I can make you a copy of Virtual Insanity. I also have a copy of their earlier demo.metalchurch wrote:Yeah, Jim Dofka is a killer on guitar. I saw him with Black Sunday about 8 or 9 years ago. What a blast! He''s such a nice guy too.

Aymar is in FLA now, and is still recording with the band Pharaoh, who have a very Maiden-influenced sound. They (Pharaoh) have a couple of CDs out on Cruz del Sur Records. You can sample some tunes at:

Ok, I knew he was with Pharaoh but I didn't know what his status was.
My friend was thinking about tracking Tim down a few years ago, and that's what he heard.
I'll take all the Psycho Scream you got! And Pharaoh also.
I only have them doing a cover of a Maiden song, I think it was Rime of the Ancient Mariner, but I could be mistaken.
It was on the album 'Slave to the Power' a tribute to Maiden.
Thanks Todd, you are the man!!
Control Denied was a good album with Tim Aymar and Chuck Schuldiner.

I listened and watched the video they have on their website and was very impressed. Their bass player is awesome. Plus he uses Aguilar stuff, which is always a +. LOL
I like the fact that the production is clean but yet honest. They sound good because their good musicians, not because they decided to overdub the guitar track 734827298 times.
