The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) mobile recording and multimedia

production studio outfitted with the latest musical instruments, computers, recording equipment and

video production gear. The Bus is dedicated to providing young people with opportunities to tour the

studios and participate in songwriting and multimedia production workshops.

The Bus interior is divided into two separate recording environments. The front studio offers the opportunity to

participate in the creation of multimedia projects. Audio and video components are discussed, with

students learning about recording, mixing and editing their original music/video projects. The back studio is

a more traditional set-up for bands and the remote recording of concerts and special events. Powered by

Apple Computer audio and video solutions, the studios feature a full range of instruments and equipment

including guitars, basses, keyboards, drums, digital workstations, video cameras, two turntables and a new

software based DJ station.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is made possible by the generous contributions of Maxell

Corporation, Apple Computer, NAMM, Roland, Sibelius, Ableton, Elixir Strings, Edirol by Roland, Full Sail,

Virb.com, Audio-Technica, Disc Makers, Sonicbids, Ultrasone, Propellerhead, Digidesign, Antares, Lowell-

This bus is fantastic. I've been working on grant options to create something like this locally for awhile (after seeing the bus in Manhattan a few years back). I've also pitched a proposal to Penn State for a "Rock and Roll Camp" for teens. Penn State runs tons of successful sports camps and has great music and production facilities (plus vacant dorms with dining halls in the summer). My proposal got a great initial reaction, but then they got dollar signs in their eyes and started viewing it as a money-maker (which meant it would end up excluding the very kids I was trying to make it available to)...so I pulled the plug. But yeah, the Lennon bus is fantastic...its like GCTTM on steroids
I have tiny hands, like a Tyrannosaurus. T-Rex may be the lizard king but he could never play the guitar...
