I'll be there. It should be a good time, and the hardest the Jaffa has rocked in a long time.

Jackyl could be especially rowdy; tomorrow is singer Jesse James Dupree's birthday!

Good show tonight from Jackyl. I was a bit disappointed that Jesse's vocals weren't as high in the mix as they should have been, but I was against the stage, so it could have just been that. He was using in-ears as well, but they should have ran some wedges for the stagefront people to hear him better. Aside from that, it was a damn good night.

Randy, as a side note, I need to grab a disc from you guys. My girlfriend's brother is a fan of you guys since you played the Easter Seals benefit with us and he wants a disc, but ran out of cash tonight. You'll have to let me know when you plan on coming to see us again or if you're going to be out someplace and I can try and grab one from you.

All in all a good show. I regretfully missed the Bisket. Jackyl was very entertaining but I think overhyped because of the 80's. The bass player had a serious mucous problem. Alot of people were turned off by the spewing into the crowd. He actually spat on the drummer. I really enjoyed Way Down East. Great show guys. Thanks to the Underground for bringing this about.

Great show, but yeah, the Jackyl guys were hocking loogies left and right all night, especially the bass player.

Is that one of the great secrets to becoming a better player? Hock loogies/clams/insert-your-local-name-for-them-here on your bandmates? ;)

If the guy is anything like me, this is allergy time. If he has allergies, that shit gets to you when you're performing. That shit has to come out or it makes it hard to breathe.

Jackyl rocked. WDE was very honored to share the stage with them. Jackyl is a great bunch guys off stage. Hopefully we get more oportunities like this.

Thanks to Chris and the Undergorund TV crew for giving us this show.

Take care

very awesome show overall. The boys in Way Down East definately delivered even though I think the sound guy was having some issues. I can understand no band was going to sound as good as the headliner but they could have done a better job. Half the time I couldn't hear randy even hitting his snare. Maybe because it was gated or something i'm not sure. As for Jackyl the drummer was pretty cool and down to earth but I personally will never play a show in blue speedo's no matter how comfortable it is lol. Great show though...

The Jaffa is a notoriously difficult room for audio. That goddamn dome is like a parabolic reflector, and sound just bounces in there for days. I've mixed there, and it's in my top ten bad rooms. I give anyone props who even tries it.
Wish I could've been at this show, my wife really wanted to go, but she had minor surgery on Fri, and Mama Corn played an arena show out in Avella, near the West Virginia line yesterday, so I didn't get home in time. Man, Chris must've had something on the higher-ups at the Jaffa. I can remember when England Dan & John Ford Coley played there, one of the biggest soft-pop groups of the 70's, and the Shriners said, "Never again! Too rowdy!" I bet the Shriners were walking on eggshells all day.--->JMS

So the show Friday night seemed to be a great success. I wasnt really into Jackyl but they seemed to be very tight and definately good musicians. The reason i wanted to write this post is because of Way Down East. These son of a bitches were unbelievable! I definately was beyond impressed with their performance. Ive been listening to early recordings of the songs on their CD and to hear them performed live gave me the chills. These guys are the REAL DEAL!
My brother Horse couldnt have walked into a better group of guys to jam with. I just wanted say Paul, Randy, Charlie, and Horse....
WELL DONE!

I took some good pictures from near front and center, I'll post a few later this week.

Here's a quick quiz for those who attended the show. Complete this phrase:
