Political topic.. Florida student tasered at Kerry forum
I normally try and keep away from these political 'discussions', but this has me interested:

What are your views on this?
Was the kid right? Did he deserve to be arrested?
or
Was the kid being too aggressive? He obviously attempted to resist arrest by trying to stand up and flail his arms
I think he didn't need to be arrested the first time, but the cops then did their job to try and keep the peace after he keeps being annoying. The taser, however, was definitely not needed as four cops should have been able to handle him.

It sucks ! The police over reacted !
I did hear Kerry say something like "Let me answer the question". Someone with authority (Kerry) should have said "Stop, Let the kid finish".
Before that video on the link starts, The fellow had already talked a few minutes. He was already ask to wrap it up before that video starts.
The police behind him keep looking to their left, Perhaps to someone with
authority. It's obvious some said , "now, escort him out now", and the police over reacted.
I also heard the kid has a history of controversy. He stood on a corner with a large sign announcing Harry Potter died, the day the last book came out. Fooling people into thinking he new the ending. Perhaps the police were expecting trouble from him. But they jumped the (taser) gun.
Is freedom of speech becoming a revocable privilege instead of a right ?

I agree, Bill.
The police were acting cowardly in that situation. And it should've really only taken one Officer to secure the 'situation' anyway.
They blatantly overreacted.

That's funny Don, I laughed when he said that on there, and when he said in a whimpering voice 'what did I do?' and 'I didn't do anything'.
'Don't taze me Bro'!

He, desered every bit of it......just because we have rights to free speech and are allowed to protest, it still doesn't give us the right to disobey authorities...they stated long before tasing him that if he didn't stop resisting he'd be tased...the person who tased had every right to escalate to that level of force. What you may not have thought about is that if an officer had gotten hurt in that incident that man would've been charged with some form of assult, the officer would have possible been off of work for a while to recover....what's worse...a few minutes of discomfort for a man who became combative or hundreds or thousands of dollars in medical bills for the officers employers and paid time off....All a taser does is make you extremely uncomfortable and leave a few marks where the contacts meet the skin...no excessive force was used in this incident.
