It cracks me up that on the Millie Jackson album cover you can see that "Larry" put his name on it so that he would never lose it.

What about a mainstream cover that looks really lame? I always thought that Ministry cover that showed the guy holding an American flag while wearing bloody meat on his head was totally lame for a major label release. What other major release covers left you feeling the big let down?
You can put kittens in the oven, but that don't make 'em biscuits.

Oh yes, that's the album, Filth Pig. Yeah, it was a lame cover, but there were some cool songs on there.

I always thought the cover to the Velvet Underground's self-titled album was kind of boring. It's just them sitting on a couch, with Lou Reed holding up a magazine. I preferred the Andy Warhol stuff with the bananna. *LOL*
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

I wish I had a copy to illustrate here, but HATS OFF to Acid Reflux for their adaptation of album cover #7 ("Country Church") on their posters plugging upcoming shows at the U.S. Hotel. I almost blew Yeungling out of my nose from the laughing fit I had when I saw the poster hanging there this past weekend. It's a scream!

You don't dip much lower than Black Flag's "Slip It In" cover. You've got a crudely drawn cartoon of some hairy guy holding hands with a nun, and a caption saying something to the effect of "when it comes to women, the less experience they have, the better".

Not that it offends me or anything. (Come on, we've all fooled around with nuns once in a while, right? Or at least had our significant other dress up as a nun or pope or something like that? It can't just be me.) But it's a cover that screams "we wanted something really crass on the cover, but didn't want to put more than 30 seconds of thought into it."

It isn't just you bro. Man, I remember my lady dressing as a nun and only doing missionary. What a great time! :)
