We've taken too much for granted
Holy shit check this guy out. Look at his face during the chorus, it's priceless. He kind of looks like Seth Green a little bit.

Oh, good Lord. Well, I always say everybody starts at zero, that's the beauty of being a musician... it's very democratic. One does notice, however, that he's not plugged in... or even actually playing that guitar. Or singing on-key. And he's over 550 hits. Hell I dance all over the living room when somebody actually listens to the stuff on my Myspace, and it's by a pretty hot bluegrass band with, like, 80 years combined experience. Just goes to show ya... it's gotta be interesting, not virtuoso.
Oh, and I made it as far as the first chorus.
Wanna see someone talented? The Doerfel Family, from NY state. The 17 year old fiddle player and the 11 tear old guitarist are both going to be huge in bluegrass. Mark my words.

I've made it my goal to get them to play around here.

No doubt Mike, I'd be damned if I would ever do that for everyone to see it.
He has no pride.
Did you see the one comment someone left? It said 'What a douche'
LOL

This all reminds me... my wife bought me a copy of Heavy Metal Parking Lot for our anniversary last week. It's a DVD of a video made for local-access TV in 1986 in the parking lot of the Cap Center in D.C., before a Judas Priest show. I knew people who were at that show! Anyway, these guys basically went around and interviewed all the rednecks and potheads, mostly people who were very drunk and/or stoned. It's a real snapshot of metaldom at that time... it was about cutting loose and being young and stupid, it was about big-hair chicks hooking up with big-hair guys, it was shallow and irresponsible and pointless, and I loved it. If you want to see what the metal scene was like at it's arguable zenith... well, okay that happened a few years before this, but still, this was right around the time girls started digging metal, too. Everybody wearing acid-wash and bandanna's at that point, even the cool kids.
There are excerpts on youtube, look 'em up. Heavy Metal Parking Lot. Priest. Bad hair. Bad attitudes. Check it out!----------->JMS

Songsmith, that's funny stuff. I was only 7 in 1986, but I remember the older kids in school,my Dad, and his friends at the time all too vividly!
'Judas Priest man! Judas Priest is the fuckin' best!!'
And the Husky skank chick says she would jump Halford's bones!!
That's funny, little does she know....LOL
Well, I guess looking back, it was plainly obvious what his sexual preference was.
Ever see the video for 'Hot Rockin'? Man that was just a little bit on the queer side, to say the least.
Here's Heavy Metal parking lot.

One guy in the video, in 1986 mind you, says,"Judas Priest f**kin' rocks, man... I don't know about that Robert Halford guy (makes limp-wrist gesture), but the rest of the band rules!"
My gay-dar wasn't even close to getting it back then, although before he did come out in the mid 90's, I had already mentioned it to a few people. You never heard of him with any chicks, and I'd only seen a few pics of him with women... and they were obviously posed, at what appeared to be the Playboy mansion. Apparently, it was common knowledge for many years among the metal elite, but it obviously would have ruined his career in the AIDS-centric 1980's.
It's weird how these things work. Freddy Mercury. Elton John. Rob Halford. All huge influences on me, especially Elton. Hell, even Paul Stanley, who stays closeted. All gay. Thank goodness Ted Nugent isn't likely to drop a bombshell on Coming Out Day anytime soon. He's not homo, just nuts. At least I have that.
