The Castle Pub Underground - New Venue

Since the LCE won't allow bands on the main floor due to "excessive noise", I am now booking bands for the Dungeon on Friday and Saturday nights. The room is a cool room but it's relatively small, probably would fit 75-100 jam packed. Obviously, I won't be looking for agency bands. I'm loo...

Our attorney explained to us that in this kind of court, the burden of proof is not the same as a criminal court. He called it a "liability" kind of case, meaning, we have no defense. It's their word against ours and they are cops, we are not. And this kind of course has been appealed many...

Another venue bites the dust thanks to PLCE - Castle Pub

Hey Everyone, Sorry to report that we will no longer be booking live music on our main stage thanks to PLCE. They gave us notice at end of 2004 about a noise violation in the pipeline from dates in October-December including New Years Eve. We took action and covered over two windows and a door in ou...

Just want to thank everyone for a great show. Great to have some variety around here and my staff commented on how respectful and professional everyone from every band was. Thanks to JP for attending. Thanks to Kent from the Grimm for his help putting it together and "creative consulting"....

Skid Row was awesome - lots of "Slave to the Grind" material too.
Guys in the band were totally approachable and willing to sign autographs and get pictures and talk shop. And CHECK OUT THEIR NEW ALBUM - which sounded very cool.

Plugs

I use a set of Carvin in-ears and have been for over a year. Nady makes a good pair as well. Get something with a good earpiece. I find the Ross earplugs are good cause you can compress them, stick them in, and then they swell to block out the sound. Both brands are a couple hundred but they'll save...

Hmmm.

I understand from Mike, the soundguy in question, that they plan to drop the low end on the floor and to fly the tops eventually. Remember they just opened a few weeks ago and I'm sure management is up to its ears in things to do and debt right now. I thought the sound guy did pretty well considerin...
