I also want to add a personal thanks to Eric and Skull and a thanks from the staff at the Tavern. We had been really advertising this show and so many people would have been disappointed if it had been canceled. Everyone had a great time and we had one of our best nights ever. Thanks again, guys!

As a bartender, I feel I have to add my two cents to this. Trust me, on a busy night, I will remember who tipped and who didn't. Those who tipped will not have to wait for their next drink. Those who didn't tip or who left pennies and pocket lint will probably get a little thirsty. I love bartending...

I am not getting worked up about this one like I did yesterday about the ref situation. Like JP said, nothing is going to keep Polamalu from the big game. I don't think a "tweaked" ankle would keep him out of a regular season game, let alone the Super Bowl. The trainers will get him taped ...

Sorry, guys!
Read this at 7 a.m. after only a few hours of sleep and got so worked up that I didn't double check to make sure info was accurate. Got myself in a tizzy for nothing.

I am so sorry to see Captain Grammar go. As a copy editor, typos, bad grammar, misspellings, incorrect punctuation and general disrespect for the English language make me crazy. I will miss Captain Grammar. :(

Super Bowl Ref

I just read that the ref who screwed up the Polamalu interception call in the Colt's game is going to be a ref at the Super Bowl. Instead of being punished by the NFL for his mistake, he is being rewarded by being a ref at the Super Bowl. What a bunch of crap! Anyone else think this is a bad decisio...

If PirateBob would have showed up at the Tavern last night to properly introduce himself, he would have known I was at work until 2 a.m. and couldn't possibly be posting as Fan4All. I didn't think the troll would crawl out from under his bridge and discuss things face to face with me. Since this thr...

Warren has more integrity than to bash someone from behind a computer screen. He takes care of things face to face. Nice try. Didn't hurt my feelings though. Warren and I are still friends.

Obviously, you don't remember anything about me from high school because I try not to associate myself with scum. And, if you knew me at all, you'd know that I would have kicked your ass and your girlfriend's if you ever talked like that to my face. And, no Rob is not posting under my name. I am a b...

No, Bob didn't have to look up triage, anyone with a high school education can get that one. Please, come to the Tavern tonight, I'll buy you a soda instead. No, Rob won't be there. I can go to work all by myself. Just introduce yourself as the "Troll." Look forward to meeting you. I'll be...

Just reread Pirate Bob's last post. Did he mean PURSUE a medical degree and that he works in TRIAGE? God, I really hope he is just delusional and doesn't really work in the medical profession. I'm scared! BTW Bob, those mail order medical diplomas aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Pirate Bob: First of all, I work as a bartender at night and I'm a copy editor at my daytime job. I am not the one who needs medication because I am not the one who keeps contradicting myself. Also, I am secure enough in myself (looks and intelliegence) that I do not need to bash other people behind...

In my own defense, I did not buy the Waylon Jennings CD, I don't even know how it got in my car. However, it was one of the few that survived a bad crash a few years ago so I keep it around. I do like to play it once in a while just to watch Rob sing along to the "Dukes of Hazzard" theme s...

I just wanted to point out that there are bars out there that will book new bands and give them a chance to prove themselves and earn fans but that we don't appreciate being screwed over. I was only trying to help out the local live music scene. As you can see, the Huntingdon area is starved for ent...

Yes, I like to make tips while I'm at work...Do you like to go to work and not make any money? That's not greed, it's called earning a living. But, the main reason I 'm pushing the owner to book bands is because I like live music and I think the area needs more of it. I make just as much money the n...

Like I said, we're a small bar, and we're not paying much, but it's a foot in the door. All we are asking is if you agree to play, then play. We can't afford the "bigger bands" in the area, but we have customers who want to hear live music. If you're good, it will be a good thing for you.

Why bars hire DJs

I am a bartender at the Petersburg Tavern. We bartenders depend on our entertainment nights to make the week worthwhile financially. When entertainment cancels, especially at the last minute, my night is screwed. I may as well have stayed home because I won't make any tips. For the second time in tw...
