I had the pleasure of meeting Van Stephenson in the early 90's when he was with Blackhawk. I remember him saying he was born in Altoona,but his family moved south when he was young.

The ultimate concert tour would be The Archies & Josie & The Pussycats with special guest The Banana Splits !

I remember seeing Leon play with Ice at a couple of venues. One hell of a drummer! He will be missed.

I'm glad somebody started this thread ! I am a vinyl junkie ! Couldn't give you an exact number as to my collection...but I've got lots ! Mostly rock, some country, oldies, radio promos, lots of 45's....Those who know me are not surprised to find me in Goodwill and other stores that sell used vinyl....

I've been a Maynard fan since high school when I boughr PRIMAL SCREAM, CHAMELEON , and MF HORN II...knew he used to come to Altoona every year...and every year I promised myself I'd catch his show...guess I'm too late now..WOW...double -high C's, great songs & a kick - ass band....I'll mis him.

Rick Wakeman makes some interesting points as to the origin..but ,then again, consider the scene in the movie CAVEMAN with Ringo Starr,where they're all sitting around the campfire and they suddenly discover music..I especially liked the notes the old blind man added to the mix! If you haven't seen ...
