I basically did the same thing as you...I took one or two lesson and then quit. So I guess I can say I'm a self taught bassist.

The pipebombs gave me the scoop on this...their drummer got his face slashed by a fan and was in the hospital...they played a show the day after with us and had to have their guitarist play drums...thats terrible...
