???
I just saw a comercial on t.v for Allstate. They handed out over I think 10,000 teddy bears to children who wear involved in the hurricane. I know their intentions are good but why stuffed animals and not food or something more useful?

I remember reading a news piece sometime ago talking about donation money being used to give homeless women free make-overs. It's funny how stupid a lot of people are. I think they'd rather be given food, treated for mental disorders, or given a job, not a freakin' make-over.
Well, it could have been worse. They could have turned it into a cheesy reality show.

I do believe I recall the report about the make-overs. All time and materials were also donated. (Beauticians, Cosmetologists and Makeup Artists, using their own or donated materials.) No donated funds were used. If funds were used to purcase Teddy Bears, that was a tad ridiculous...some rich slime bag could have donated the $ for them and claimed it at tax time. Teddy Bears do give kids, especially kids who've lost everything, a sense of security or something, don't they? (Haven't you ever seen a child holding onto a stuffed animal for dear life?) Well, you are sort of the Rockpage "resident expert", in the Psychological arena, aren't you bassist_25?

I read an article that we've REFUSED help from Cuba, including medical help. The article showcased 2 doctors with extensive
disaster experience - they had spent time in Indonesia after the Tsunami...I think to deny ANY assistance is terrible.
