I didn't get to watch the concert before the super bowl but I caught the replay last night on CMT .
All in all it was a great show....3 Doors Down "super performance"
Charlie Daniels " always a hell of a performer, always will be! "
Jo Dee Messina "country as you want to get "
Also it was nice to see Johnny Van Zandt and brother Donnie together
Johnny's voice being a little rougher than I heard him in his own band,
he still whaled....
It was nice to see some sponsers like pepsi to put this event on, and even better they got home town boys for the concert...
It would be nice to see something like this every year before the super bowl

I only caught the last few minutes of it, and the thing that bothered me was one of the guitarist's tone. There was something about the mix of it that I didn't like. It was an example of what a bad Marshall tone sounds like. And he was too high in the mix IMHO. Now the other guitarist (the one who looks like the dude from Kung-fu) had a beautiful tone.
Sorry that I didn't have a lot to contribute to this thread.
I only caught the end performance of Freebird and that bad guitar tone drove me up the wall.

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
