PNA,VFW,MOOSE why not MUSIX

With alot of places around Johnstown or anyplace else closing (or limiting live music) what would keep someone from forming a club run by musicians.
This place would be like a PNA or MOOSE or FIREMANS club type place.
It would have a board of directors that ran it and cost a fee to belong and be nonprofit. If you did it right you might even be able to keep the PLCB out. I guess that would mean no sales but couldn't that be a privlage of membership. Staying afloat might be a problem.
I don't know thinking too much maybe?

Good idea but I still say and especially if it is non profit, charge an admittance fee and have a few kegs o beer on the house. $15 bucks in the door and they would have to drink alot of drafts before there wasn't a profit. Then there is no liquor license no PLCB etc.

Private clubs still need a liquor license, it's just a different class of license known as a 'club' license.

To get a 'club' license, the organization has to be nationally sponsored or a sportsman's club, golf course or caterer that has been in existence for at least 10 years. (If I remember correctly).

I'm sure there are a ton of regulations and rules beside these, and these may even be outdated.

Sorry... the PLCB SUCKS.

I have a place like that. I hope tonights show has a draw.. Becuse if not It will be closed like all the other places are getting shut down.
I built this for bands and bands don't seem to support what is going on.

Let's do a shitty Train Math Question...

Lets say we have 50 bands ( I'm sure we have more) with in 45 mins of Philipsburg.
Each band has 4 members if not 5, But let's stick with 4. To ease the Math
50 x 4 = 200

Lets say each band has 2 members see a show to support other bands by seeing them live 1 time a month.
We all do not have shows every weekend.

Chrome Cult has 2 shows a month with 3 bands each.

That is 100 people Just with Bands to see the Show.. Hell more People then I need to keep it going..

Well, It seems that this is not the case.

It's not about the music it's about how we can get a drink on.. Hate to say it If I would get 30 Girls in my place I would get 60 guys.. Guys go see the girls, Girls go to hear DJ's to Dance to what they hear on the Radio.
