the mto thread made me think about the whole fast food thing. when your traveling alot and dont have time to cook everyone hits the drive through, i mean is there anyone who honestly hasnt? for 3.00 i can get a chicken sandwich a double cheeseburger and a fruit& yogurt parfait...the problem? i just spent all week eating healthy and trying to lose weight and then im driving home 3pm havent ate all day and spontaneosly pull in to the drive in, sound familiar? ive got a new diet, forget the atkins. or the low fat, howbout try to go three months without fast food!! why is it so hard? 1. it tastes pretty damn good 2. its cheap as hell 3. you dont have to wait at restaurant and tip 4. you dont have to cook 5. its cheaper than going to the store! fast food has become an addiction for alot of people just like cigarettes, alchohol, and drugs, one question. Why the hell is all the healthy stuff on the menu the most expensive?!!!
I'm not into the whole atkins thing either, it works, no doubt, but I'm still not convinced that it's healthy for you. I'm pretty into my health (Weekly gym 5 days, run 3 days, bike 60 miles) and seriously watch what I eat (except for Vacations and my once a week drinking nights...I DD the others).
The problem is that making your own lunch or taking something is the problem of finding a way to keep it cold (Not in Winter Pa!) and where to put it. You work out hard all week and then indulge in a quick taco bell or Mickey D's because you don't have time for dinner....work then straight to a show. I still catch myself doing it once in a while, but anything's ok in moderation I guess.
I still love a late night Primanti Ham and Cheese sandwich after a night of drinking. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Luckily I limit myself to one of those about every other month. It's a like a heart attack waiting to happen.
I'm not really into fast food anymore. There's only a few dollar difference between getting a full meal at a fast food joint and a sit-down restaurant. Sometimes I have to eat fast food due to my hectic schedule. Often times, food is an after thought. I might grab some cheeseburgers from Burger King when I have a free moment. Either that, or I'll hope Rob has some yummy burgers waiting on the George Foreman Grill.
I like Subway. Make fun of that Jarrod dork all you want, but I love getting their roasted chicken breast subs. The best part is I can collect tickets and get free subs.
