Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the December 13 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.
This week, we took the opportunity to empty the mailboxes and check out new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. This enabled us to debut plenty of new tunes this week from Monster Track Supergroup, Elizabeth Findley, Bree Gearhart, Anchors to Anchors, The Hawkeyes, The Clarks, Kenny Murdick, H8 and Hate Grenade. Along the way, we updated "Local Music News," remembered the late Cliff Turner with a 1997 John Phelps song he played bass on for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from Akron, Ohio's Aliver Hall, and reviewed Jack Pyers' No Road Home CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

In Local Music News...
Bassist Ron Gallucci is stepping away from live performing, and wrapping up his stint with the Adam Ernst Band. The group will continue on with a new bass player.
For folks looking to get into the holiday spirit with a touch of ukulele, the Allegheny Ukulele Kollective presents their Uke & Yule Christmas Concert next Saturday night, December 19, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg. A $5 donation per person is being requested, with proceeds benefiting the Kollective's programs and their 2016 Ukulele Soiree event.
And big changes for The Big Time...The Altoona-based power-pop/punk group has morphed into a new group called Walkney, with singer/guitarist Derek Mrdjenovich and drummer Aaron Porta spearheading the new inception. Walkney has already recorded some new song material, and will play an all-ages show presented by AnEmergencyScene on Saturday, December 26 at the Archway Center in Altoona. Also appearing during that show will be Post Season, Moses and Paul Johnson.
