Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the October 11 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

A former area singer will make her movie screen debut shortly. Crystal Cameron, who sang for area party band Fuse in the late 1990s, will star in the upcoming independent film The Jesus Freak, which will be released during Easter of next year. Crystal plays the role of Kristen, one of four friends and a youth pastor who set out on a cross-country trip to Las Vegs to win souls for Jesus, but who encounter temptations and tests once they get there. The movie is written and directed by Carl Jackson. Crystal has called northern Texas her home base since the late 1990s.
The original members of 1970s-era Altoona hard rockers Piranha are reuniting to perform a benefit concert for St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. That event will take place on Saturday, November 28 (Thanksgiving weekend) at 30 Something in Altoona. Two other bands are being sought to complete that bill. Piranha plans to have some commemorative T-shirts and other surprises for that show.
