HOMEGROWN ROCKER 10/26/14 (HALLOWEEN SPECIAL)

Post by Jim Price »

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 26 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com). The show can also be streamed via either Rocky website, www.rocky1049.com or www.rocky99.com.

Ghosts, witches, psychos, vampires, monsters, arachnids, devils and other things that go bump in the night were musically in the spotlight this week during our annual Halloween Special! Bands and songs that had tie-ins to Halloween filled our two hours this week, as well as a few other spooky voices along the way. We also updated “Local Music News,” and debuted new songs from Ted McCloskey and Pure Cane Sugar.

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE SITCH – “Hill Billy Psycho”
LUKE PFISTER – “Romeo a Ghost”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Black Widow”
BORROWED TIME – “Black Widow Lady”

INSIDE OUT – “Vampire Eyes”
GENE THE WEREWOLF – “Heart Attack”
GAS STATION DISCO – “A Haunting Affair”
TED McCLOSKEY – “Got Me Under Your Spell”
PURE CANE SUGAR – “Ghost of You and Me” (live)
NOBODY’S HEROES – “Apparition”

The “Homegrown Rocker” takes another break next Sunday night as the Pittsburgh Steelers will see if they can make it three victories in a row with a Sunday night contest against the Baltimore Ravens. The show will return in two weeks, when our guest will be Cambria County country performer Adam Ernst! We’ll also update “Local Music News,” dig out a “Local Music Flashback,” and review Chris Rattie’s All These Things CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
