Folding Dreadnought Acoustic

So i was glancing around at acoustic guitars and stumbled upon this folding dreadnought.

i just don't understand how or if it would stay in tune? this thing blows my mind. maybe i am over thinking the concept. has anyone used one of these? thoughts??

There is no way in hell that thing is staying in tune.
I bet the intonation is terrible.

Yeah, the connection of the neck to the body is kinda important, both mechanically and sonically. Plus it looks really stupid.

I've seen some reviews on these and similar guitars and there was no mention of them 'not' staying in tune. The connection point is very secure.

There is actually an upright bass that has a removable neck. It just doesn't have the hinge. This upright is a very popular bass and has great reviews.

It's definitely an interesting concept. My friend had one of these when he was deployed overseas. He told me it sounded decent, and of course, was much better than not having a guitar to play!
