Altoona Public Access Cable

This has actually been going on for a while, but I didn't know how many area musicians are aware of this...

The Altoona Public Access cable television channel is soliciting for submissions of original music from local bands and artists, to use as background music when they scroll public service and community announcements in between programs. They're accepting a variety of musical styles: rock, jazz, country, instrumental, blues, etc. It would have to be broadcast-friendly stuff (no swearing), but this is an opportunity to have your music heard on public access cable when people tune in to read the announcements. They'll also run a list of featured musicians of the month during their scrolling announcements.

According to the message that scrolls on the channel, if you're interested, send along a CD of your original music to this address:
