Today is a sad day. Etta James was a driving force in music, a bridge between the soul of gospel, the passion of R&B, and bombast of the blues. She could sing anything she wanted, and just kill it.
"At Last" is a masterwork of songwriting, recording production, orchestral arrangement, and FEEL. I never "got" it until I met my wife... but I get it now. You'll be remembered for a long time, Etta.

ahh...thats a shame, she was one of the greats IMO, but I heard a while ago that she was going down hill and figured she didn't have much time left.

Etta James was my personal Goddess. She changed the way I sing and look at performing. She was a tough and amazing woman, the last of a dying breed, I loved her!!!!

nope, I'm not even 30 yet...some of us enjoy listening to music that isn't from our particular generations. Of course, you do have a point, there have been alot of death notices on RP lately.
