Final Chapter
We practice in Richland, near the Wal-Mart, at my house. We have two PA's, one is always set up for practice. I am the drummer with over 30 years of experience. My lead guitar/singer is probably one of the best in Johnstown. He played in a excellent band for over 20 years in Florida, opening for the Allman Brothers and cut an album. We have a small band trailer and all the equipment necessary to play out. The attitude is that we are not in a hurry to play out until it is tight and marketable.
We had played a few “test” gigs with our ex bass player and were saddened when he told us he had to bow out, as we were ready to begin fall bookings. His timing was not good. Actually, he and I started this project so that made it even a bit more disappointing
We would like to keep it a three pierce. We are looking at average bar prices in the $300 - $400 range, which gives each player $100-$125 a show. Of course, the market will ultimately determine this.
We are looking for a dedicated bass player who is willing to practice twice a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, but this can be flexible. Vocal ability would be a great plus. Must have a professional attitude and be in it for the long haul. This is why we call it Final Chapter. This is the last band that my guitar/vocalist or myself wish to be in.
There can be no attitudes or baggage. We look at this band as a second job however it is a very flexible and rewarding job. Each player has an equal say. I must again stress that this is a long-term project with no set time line. When the right bass player is found, then the work begins. When it is ready to take out, then and only then will it be taken out.
